At present Digital-Info received informations wich indicate that nvidia is very happy about the G70 performence.

the current specs for G70 indicate 24 pipelines and SAMSUNG GDDR3 at 1.4GHz high, sli support and a single slot cooling solution.

in a demo system powered by an AMD FX55 on an nForce4 SLI mainboard and DDR600 the G70 reaches as much as 8XXX 3dmarks in 2k5

G70 in sli should produce even more extreme results.

Wonder if they're pipelines are like ATI claims, how a single pipeline is 1.2x faster than the previous so it's as fast as a 32 pipeline card. I'm a little dissapointed it's not 32 pipelines, but oh well should be plenty fast.

why are you dissapointed, i'm not means i can keep my 6800nu longer
also i dont think we will see a huge performance jump like the last generation, and going from 8-16 pipes isnt that huge but going from 16-32, well yea

God, i'm so behind in technology these days. the new G70 sure sound very promising too, maybe good enough to break 15k.

8k sounds bad but its stock. I'd bet 10-12+ would be easy.

Yeah, should be interesting to see the G70 in the right hands. My X800XT-PE at 700MHz along with my 4.3GHz Pressy only hit low to mid 7xxx scores, so a stock 8k isn't anything to scoff at.

When ati claimed that only 128mb of the memory on 256mb cards were being used, and they 'fixed' it in the new drivers and their 3dmark scores jumped up alot.

earlier catalyst drivers adressed only 128mb of video memory - even on 9800xt or x800 boards with 256mb
