    Problems with Venice 3000+ >:(

    Just other deception

I had a CBBID Winchester and it was a really in' $hit, and it's happening with my Venice, too

300x8 = 2.4GHz 1.4v in Bios SIMPLY IS NOT STABLE! (It's not common, isn't it?)

Then I was angry, put 1.55v and looks fine, but, in my opinion, it's a $HIT.

What do you think it is? Really a TERRIBLE CPU or the bios of my mainboard?

Venice 3000+ cooled by Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu
    DFI LanParty UT nF4 Ultra-D (310P)
    G.Skill PC4800LA (100% stable)
Seventeam ST-420BKV (it's NOT the problem)

    LDT/FSB is 3x.

maybe its ur mainboard but i will hard believe that.

try some settings and play some bit, i know a guy who got today a 3800+ with exactly that stepping with zalman7000CU 2800mhz 1,55Vcore fully spi stable not more tested yet.

so take some time to lpay around some bit

    seEn

PS: 1,4V is default core voltage so give him power to get power of him

    What settings?
My memory is stable, I don't know what more to do.
My mainboard is ok, because my CBBID did 2.4GHz with 1.695v and Venice is doing 2.4GHz with 1.55v (I didn't test any VCore between 1.43v and 1.55v)
    Thanks

How far did you get with 9x?

    Could be your motherboard.

310 bios is terrible for my San Diego, use 414-3.

I think I've found near the top of this chip, its running 2400 stable at 1.4 volts, currently in Prime 95 12K test. Is there a prize for the lowest speed Venice on this board or am I doing something wrong? Its not stable at 2450 with 1.575 volts.......

I have the same problem with a 3200 Venice; however, I can't do 2400 stable! I'm thinking there is a problem with the 3.10 bios

My buddy has a 3000+ venice with I believe the same stepping as you. He is a novice overclocker, but has only been able to get 2.3ghz stable out of his so far with 1.55v. He is using a DFI nF4 Ultra-D as well along with a Thermalright XP-90 for cooling. I hope to be able to help him with overclocking it soon to see if it can do more.

    PEOPLE !!!

Bios 414-3 really helped, and VERY MUCH!!!

My CPU (310P) with 1.45v didn't pass 5% of OCCT.

Now with 414-3 it's 100% stable, passed OCCT while I was using ICQ and IExplorer with NO problems.

Suggestion: If you are using VENICE and got problems with overclocking, try 414-3 BIOS!

good lord. I'm really hoping that these problems are just BIOS issues that need to be ironed out with various Mobos. I mean 2.3-2.4 max is worse than even a lot of the CBBID Winnies.

I can only assume for now that its due to BIOS problems, and hopefully this will all be cleared up soon.

    Crazy system?
I tested OCCT again two times with the EXACTLY SAME config (I didn't reboot) and I got errors.
The only way to know if it's stable is playing...

You have one hell of a system there. It should do 2.6+ on air quite easily...why not try it?

agreed, even my cpu that can suicide screen on air at 3.1ghz needs 1.45v to get 2.7ghz stable

I'll try it surely! But I'd like to use my GSkill between 600 and 610MHz
And it's not possible with 2.6GHz... is it?

2.7GHz and 1.69v my system get BSOD when loading Windows.

Do you think that high VCore was the problem or my CPU is not good?

at 2.6ghz, you have the option of fiddling with the memory ratio to get the 8x ram divider for 325mhz, 9x for 289mhz, or 10x for 260mhz.

I dont see any problem, does it run at 1.8GHz? Good its not broken then. You have taken for granted all those lucky clocks and get disapointed when you are handed an average clocker. Mine wont do 2.4GHz either at 1.4v and it shouldnt, its binned as a 3000+
