    A64 3400 WR 3253MHz

I believe this is a record

    3253MHz on DI

    0450 CAA2C 3400 Mobile

    here's the cpu-z link:
    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=11015

    pi stable at 3200mhz:

Spork has pics of the cooling as this was a combo session. Team SLO
I used to have links here demonstrating how awesome I am, but it's been so long that they're not very relevant (and the pictures have disappeared), so I guess I'll have to get working on new stuff.

right now it might be contact thats holding us back. only -19*c for the 3253mhz shot.

we submited to VR-Zone so our shot should be posted soon. NewBeetle has/had the record with 3237mhz on VR-Zone. we should top him, and with some tweaking(or better contact), we'll top Kunaak's 3700+ at 3293mhz.

edit: if the pics are down, just wait a few minutes and try again. they will come back after a few minutes. my server has problems every now and then.

    pics of the setup!

the CPU we used for the record:

a 15 pound bag of dry ice

the tube we used with no insulation

    the whole setup

the thermo unit is sitting on eshbachs PC_ICE 2 stage cascade, which sadly has a problem and cant be used. the black tube in the pic above is the cascade aswell.

for stevil, you can see the mobo sitting on the box, on the kryotech(broken suction line need to get that fixed.)

this is the 3200+ clawhammer.. turns out it sucks.. wouldnt run past 2900mhz.. ohwell...

fun with dry ice in the sink! dumped the tube in there.. plus a little.

we had a bunch of problems and didn't get things working correctly until we were basically out of ice.

at one point we thought the board was dead and were ready to give up.

so 3D runs are coming, we just didn't get them done tonight

we corrupted our bench drive right away, then we had alot of system problems. we thought the mobo was dead for over an hour. tried everything.. then eshbach threw in one of my sticks of bh5 and BOOM! it worked! put his ram back and it fired right up!

in the end we learned alot, but didnt run any 3d.

hdds are fine(in person its clear, cant tell in pics)

the psu is several inches below the mobo.. not close to touching, even if it was, the mobo is sitting on a layer of foam.

and the kinks arent all the way, the x800 still gets enough waterflow for it not to matter. the water on there was just to keep it cool. eventually well have dry ice on it too.

off ebay. take a look at the pic for stepping and week info.

the chip arrived while we were messing with the 3200 still. the ebay auction said it was a band new unused chip... so it might be, might not.

nice results! cant wait for the 3d runs

    and yeah, looks really messy

btw, you might wanna ask if they have smaller dry ice chunks, afaik they are better to reach low temps
maybe you also have to tweak your dry ice/alcohol mix a little, ask the dry ice gurus

is my 3700 really the record?
I know I asked many times, but I just never seen anyone actually post a higher screen shot then mine yet.

although I see thats definatly about to change
that CPU looks to do alot better then my old 3700 did.

according to VR-Zone, you have the highest 754 chip clock.

if i can find a way to get more ice to eshbach(he doesnt have a car right now , and i dont really either, i have to barrow a car ) hell be able to toss some 3d runs and out today.

edit: sweet found a way to get ice to eshbach. im on it!

edit: calling dry ice gurus! if anyone has some help for us to get better cpu temps, plz pm either eshbach or me, or contact us via aim!

we fixed the condensation problem, but temps arent that great. the ice:alcohol level seems to be ok. with the comp on and at high speed/vcore the alcohol boils up to almost the top of the tube.

    Hey, that container looks familiar.......

What are y'all using to measure temps? I didn't have a Fluke or anything to measure them when I tried it, so I just had to trust the BIOS. It read temps or -40C to -42C at stock vcore, and -36C to -38C when vcore was at 1.75v. My dry ice came from H.E.B. in big blocks which I had to bust up..... I think if I could have gotten ahold of small pellets it would have been better. I used Acetone as the liquid (it's best from what I've heard).

    And when you say

    we fixed the condensation problem....
    how did you do that?

Cheers, and good luck getting higher and pulling some sweet 3D #'s

the DFI nf3 mobo wont go much higher and keep the vcore stable
sam with teh vdimm at 3.6.. cant go higher and keep it stable.

we pulled the insulation off, and took a hair dryer to the board!
then we went and greased up the board everywhere we thought it might be needed, then put the insulation "tape" back on, but better.

we basically just took it apart and put it back together better.

WHAT???? YOur alk level is too HIGH!!!!! how big are those pcs of DI?? you want to use pellets, like 1/4" pellets, or crushed di. fill the tube with di maybe 3/4 full then add a little alk or acetone. maybe enough to fill the bottom of the tube maybe one inch or two max. and what alk are you using? 70% rubbing alk? bad choice, freezes. 90% better, but still not good, the ONLY rubbing alk worth anything is 99% stuff. acetone, the strong pure stuff is prob better. best is ethanol. then let the tube and alk sit before firing up. once it's down to maybe -50c fire her up, bench rapidly and shut her down...repeat. when benching, keep adding di and use a stick to poke the di to make sure there's no air pockets inside. you should be seing -30c at least.

    c
ps, get some armaflex on that tube

ok were doing this a little wrong then.

were filling about 1/4 the tube with denatured alcohol. the DI chunks are about the size of a penny and come in rods and chunks. some are over an inch long, some are almost balls. we're filling the tube to the top with ice(insulation goes up for another 3" or so)

i think too much alcohol is to blame for some of this it sounds...

    edit: what is armaflex?

oh, yeah, you'll do much better then...
fill ice first adda little alk, break up the big pcs, you only need to add alk once. you can also put in 1" alk at first so you can see it, then fill with ice. which alk do you use?

we were using the denatured alcohol they sell in the paint section at home depot. should we get some acetone instead?
