all OEM's should be releasing nforce4-754 boards, AFAIK(i know 100% for sure EPoX and Gigabyte have boards). too many options out there, and people with 754 cpu's, to ignore the market, seeing how 754 will be the mobile platform for a bit. 800mhz LDT instead of the 1000 of k8t800pro, tho. hopefully we see a DFI board with this chipset...but i think they may not bother, the UT 250gb is so strong.

Thats been out for quite a while actually...Along with the MSI K8N Neo3-FSR which also has PCI-E for the 754 platform.

However, if you are in the market for one of these boards you find yourself in a dilemma. Yes they give you PCI-E, but A. Their availability is worse than that of an AGP XT PE ( ) and B. Because of their rarity and their rare feature, they are priced ($125+)well above the cost of a DFI LP UT 250, which is one of the most capable boards on any platform. In addition, the cost it would take you to go 754 just for these boards, along with a Turion, you can grab an MSI NF4-F for the 939 at $90 and along with a sleek venice on the same budget.

And this along with knowing that 939 platform has dual channel and a boat load of features and advancements, it really does start to become a compromise just to stay 754.

My 0.02...(and remember there will not be any SLI on them)

EDIT: Just saw Newegg got some recently, but for the same price as a 939 rig its still not a smart option.

The only reason why I am inquiring about this board is because it has the nF4 chipset, which allows for a PCI-E card to be used. However, I am not sure if it will support a Newark straight out of the box. I was searching for BIOS updates and was unable to ascertain whether the newer cores will be supported.

Judging from the lack of popularity of the Asus K8N4-E Deluxe and the lack of reviews and information on it, I'll probably just play with the DFI nF3 again and pick up an AGP card.

Regarding the MSI K8N-Neo3-F, Newegg has it for $78.00 but I'm not sure it has all of the OC features that I'm looking for. No big deal. I'll buy the DFI.

nope. dunno if my sempron works in it even...can't pull a psu and try until the middle of hte month, or i get one in the mail. I'll let you know if i find one tho. seems i am the only one with this board.

I know Vandi423 tested Turion in an ASUS K8N, and it worked with the most recent BIOS, so one could make the assumption that a different ASUS S754 board would work with a very similar CPU.

MSI also has an nForce4 S754 offering. Mobile support with the Neo Platinum was excellent, so one could assume that their nForce4 board has the same support, although this is once again just speculation.

I was actually checking out these PCI-E Socket 754 boards out on NewEgg, and most are just as reasonably priced as the nF3 boards. The MSI is ~$80.

Soltek also has a VIA K8T890-based PCI-E board for ~$100. Has a lot of nice features, like 10/100/1000Mb, 8-channel sound, etc. Only thing I'm not too sure about is overclockability and mobile support.

The MSI board is out of the picture for me. With only two DIMM slots, there is no possibility for me to run a Booster with this board.

I really think my best bet would be the DFI nF3. I have owned 3 of these boards in the past and they are excellent to say the least. The only reason why I was looking into the other manufacturers' boards was for nF4/PCI-E.

Epox has had a 754 PCI EX board for quite awhile now.

I tested the Asus K8N4-E Deluxe some days ago (BIOS 1003 and 1004). VDimm up to 3 V, but the VCore setting wasn't working. Neither the BIOS hardware monitor nor tools like CPU-Z and Everest will show any VCore changes when I set it to a higher value. The north bridge cooler is a little bit noisy, but you can change it without problems because it's above the PEG slot.

I think this is a pretty good solution for those of us who want to begin taking advantage of the PCI-E video cards while still making use of the older 754 socket cpus.

By getting this board and a 6800GT, I was able to upgrade to a pci-e card that out-performs my 9800Pro on the Lanparty NF-250 that cratered. I had a 3400XP Mobile that I put in (after shaving down the little knobs on the socket, as the Mobile chip lacks the factory heat speader and is lower in clearence).

So I spent $104.00 for the board and $169.00 at Comp USA for the PCI-E, sold my 9800 Pro to a cousin for $120.00. So for me this allowed me to move into the nf-4 and pci e for $154.00.

Now I can wait a little for newest ATI card to come out for my gaming rig (evidently ATI is having production problems and won't release for months), although this rig games really pretty damm well as is. And when I get my ATI, I can pop it right in this rig and use it while saving $$$ for the new MB and 939 Processor I want, which was going to cost $500.00 more .

The Asus AI overclocking program seems to lock the computer everytime I change fsb there, although I've had no problems making these changes in the bios.

As this just got up last night, I've not had an opportunity to do any serious overclocking. But I think this board had some limited potential!

My voltage control at the bios level works fine according to mbm5 and the included monitors. Maybe it is your bios version?
