    6600GT AGP volt mod? Yes i have read the other one

    umm....mine is pretty different from a BFG plus..i'm no pro at reading massive 40 page manufacturer circuitry stuff...so...I'll leave you lot a picture to ponder over.. be nice if some one can find out or has done a mod...Hope you find my camera high quality enough Hope you lot can help :'(

    btw...this image is HUGE...you can see the whole board front and read every circuit letter...can even see the 16 on the end of one of the ram chips meaning 1.6 ns :P

    Here's the back. As for the vmod, if someone says i have to solder something in central resistor silicon city, that can go itself :/ I've never seen such a mess. Anyhow, here it is. Any help...muchly appreciated.

    Go read the other post again, the ICS and card layout look nearly identical from the two pictures im looking at.

    just making sure...but, for the GPU mod, on one side of the wire you have it soldered to the chip leg thing...then it goes into a VR then does it go to ground?

    Yes it goes to ground.

    Use the metal chasis of the case or something like the PCI bracket.

    You only need to use a 10K trimmer with multiple turns like in this picture. This seems to work for the GPU and memory. Measure the voltage for the GPU in the places I marked. I didn't mark the memory measure point, but it is a capacitor located along the edge of the card. I don't think you need to worry about the memory voltage with this mod.

    ***Try to only use a 15-25 turn trimmer and make sure you have it set at 10K ohms before you turn the computer on or you will destroy the card.***

    The solder point to ground near the chip should measure close to 500 Ohms to ground when the trimmer is attached. When you start lowering the resistance of the trimmer the voltage will rise on the points I marked in the picture. Do it very slowly, that is why you should use a 15 to 25 turn trimmer because there is less chance you will set the resistance too low.

    Make sure you never set the trimmer too low or good bye video card. You could add a fixed resistor in series with the trimmer for protection so you never set the resistance too low. I value of 1 to 1.5K would probably be OK.
