You won't miss anything though. 1004 does not make A8N SLI-Deluxe any better.

    1004 and 1005.001

The 1004 Final and 1005.001 BIOSes are both out.

I've been testing the 1005.001 for a couple of hours, and have had mixed results.

    Current speed is 250 x 9 = 2250 @ 1T, 1:1, 2.5-4-4-10
I've been prime95ing for about 30 minutes with no errors so far. Unfortunately nTune only allows 25% increase, ie, DDR500 which I am at now. I've always had problems using Clockgen, and AIBooster won't install due to the "Fail to install IO Driver" error.

what Ram are you using and what did you set the VDimm to?

Also, why do you have problems with Clockgen? Does it give you less of a stable overclock, or are is it hanging the system when you try to boost HTT?

I've using the OCZ Platinum Rev 2 PC3200 "stuff". I have the VDIMM set to 2.9v almost all the time. I can reach DDR620 using a 2T command rate, but only DDR547/548 stabley with 1T.

And yes, Clockgen just hangs when I try to increase the HTT, even lowering the current speed by 1mhz hangs it. The 1005.001 appears to be no different with regard to overclocking at 1T than any other BIOS revision. It really makes me want to hang on a bit and get a DFI...

Please be true, as that would be amazingly nice. I only hope that included in that "host of issues" is the 1t high fsb issue.

I do, frequently, but it still doesn't help the 250mhz at 1T issue.

bigtoe, are you sure? how do you know this, because it sure would be good to see the 1005 final so early.

I did notice curiously that the 1004 final had a date of 4th February on it, which is about 16 days before it was released. Perhaps they were working on 1005 for a lot of that time waiting to get it right?

ah yeah. Ran into that prob myself. was able to get it to boot at 265 and 270 1:1 but never got it stable >( Anyone know if the new bios fixes any of the issues so far?

I'm just using the most recent version, although thinking about it, the only times it have not worked was when i was in 64bit Windows, I checked and it's fine in 32 bit.

Being able to even boot to an operating system at 265/270 with RAM set to 1:1 and 1T command rate on the A8N is something to behold. I increment in 1mhz increments, 247, 248, 249 and superpi at every stage. 247 is almost always fine, 248 is a little dodgy, and 249 and 250 almost always return rounding errors.

OCZ Plat. Rev 2 PC3200 at 2.9V "should" at the very least be capable of 280mhz at 1T, scraping to get 250 just is wrong. 2T is fine, DDR620 , but it's not really faster than DDR450 at 1T. Will have to wait and see if this rumoured BIOS surfaces and fixes anything.

I've not seen any new BIOSes since the 1005.003 early last week, quite where Bigtoe got his information from I don't know.

OK, SuperPi spews rounding errors at 247 x 10 @ 1T meaning the 250+ @ 1T issue still exists, no luck with this BIOS. I also can't see what has changed.

Never mind.... But plz go make yourself another topic since this one is about the Non Deluxe and you keep talking about the Deluxe. We're not interested in bios updates for the Deluxe.

Yeah i'm a little concerned about bios updates as well, i just ordered the board and then saw they didn't really update the bios.

For now i'll be running it default with a 4000+ and X800XT but i'm a little concerned about that ati card in there, will i run into problems or has this been tested before and should i use the search better ?

I plan on using that second pci-e slot for a badass sata/scsi raid controller so sli is of no concern for me.
