All DFI NF4 users, please come in if you still have problem with 2.17 bios

As this effort is belong to OSkar,
I just have this beta bios couple minutes ago. It's regarding some XS friends PM me about they still got some issues on the 2.17.
As I mentioned yesterday, it could be different NVMM version package. So , here you go, this 2.18 beta bios is the old nvmm
please understand that, I can not talk about the NVMM.

If you get the bios, please DO compare and confirm the results in this thread, don't just take it for granted and nothing back. PLEASE.

Here you go for DFI NF4 2.18 Beta bios.

Haven't got any problems with the 17/02 bios, but i will try this one out also, i want 10x270

Result with the 17/02 bios see attachment. Was better than the 09/02 bios, timings are tighter on this one.

edit: uploaded wrong image lol, was from my previous mb.

    SONOFA!!!......I haven't had any problems with 10x or 11x 270, but....

...well, problem solved with 2/18. Need to do some longer term testing but this seems to have helped me out enormously with the problem I did have. Since board #1 died on me, board #2 was not making me a fan of these boards. Pass my thanks on to Oskar.

edit to add: little more testing and there is no doubt this helped me out.

I've had a terrible experience with 217, after restart I couldn't load windows anymore with my SATA Raptor 74GB drive, said ntfs.sys had an error and I got the dreaded BSOD!!! Had to LLF the drive and then reinstall everything... Lost all my data on the disk. I also reverted to my old BIOS but to no avail, the harm was already done. Now, I don't think I'm in the mood to try 218...

O.K. - first thanks for the work, but this is the 4th BIOS since beginning of February and makes me wonder which one to use?
So if You cannot talk about NVMM please give us an information when it is better to use 2/18 with the old NVMM or the 2/17 with the new one.

I mean You don't have to post secrets here but try to explain it in Your own words so that You don't get a problem with somebody..........

the official 125 bios was horrible for me, wouldn't allow me to change vdimm. 209 was good, and 217 was better, so if this one uses old nvmm, i don't think i'll switch, becuase 217 has been working better than 209.

I guess I can be a little more clear. My 12x multi was utter crap, 13x not so good either. Much better now with the old nvmm. I'm guessing other peeps with multi issues should get some help out of this release. Doesn't seem like everyone has the multi issue either, and some that do have issues with other multi's. I honestly thought until today that my board was crap.

ok, using the beta bios on dfi's site for now, only got board installed today but had it for a week now. its an a01 i think, had the 1/25 bios on it. so far on both the bios's i literally can't overclock at all, even slightly, will bsod in windows. 600W ocz psu, 2x 6800gt's, turned off the nx bit protection which seemed to stop bluescreening at stock which was infrequent, but overclocking it didn't help. 3500+ winchester, 2x200gb dm10+'s in raid on the nvidia controller with 2 more maxtor drives on the nvidia controller not in raid.

this same setup(diff psu though, 520W ocz) would run 2.6Ghz stable at 245ish Mhz 1:1 so i assume the memory(couldn't test anyhigher fsb) gskill LA kit is fine for at least that, and cpu can clearly do 2.6Ghz, was fully 100% stable and would do much more not stable on 1.5v.

am i missing some major setting on this dfi board, i normally laugh at people with threads with really obvious stuff but, pci-e is locked, on both other nf4 boards 101Mhz didn't auto lock it or anything so kinda assuming we don't need it here either.

also where can i get teh 2/09 2/17 bios's if they aren't on dfi site?

also i think i used raid drivers i got with the asus sli board as my dfi floppy just didn't see any drivers on it while installing windows, assume they are the same though, and using 6.39 nforce drivers, 71.81's for gfx, any known issues with any of that lot?

    You've got mail (bioses).
edit: no you don't. the email in your sig bounced.

re: the tccd...have you used 3.0V+ on them yet? I haven't tried my tccd out on this board, but that seems to be the deal with them.

mikead_99 , cheers for trying, haven't updated sig in a good year, or two probably :p changed it , got hte 2/09 and 2/18 now, too tired to look for the 2/17 right now.

just very weird, normally i can always max out my stuff, never ever not been able to overclock and this literally won't go 5Mhz fsb faster when i know all this stuff did 245Mhz minimum fine before. who knows

218 contains old nvmm and nv raid rom
for me 218 is a bit better than 217.

    That's all I can say

** By teh way, I am using wd740gd in Raid 0 mode.
I try several bios without any prob.
