Thumbs up Sparkle 6800, Vmem-mod...works, look inside! :)

    Hi there.
I would like to know if there“s anyone here who can get a hold on the .pdf for the ISL6534CV regulator. Or maybe you know where the FB for the vmem are?
A friend of mine thinks that he has found the FB, but needs to get it confirmed!
I“ll give you a picture of the pcb. Thx.

I'm also trying to find out how to mod my 6800LE card to increase the memory voltage, anyone know which correct pin on the voltage regulator we should be soldering to?

Some one needs to write up a little 6800LE/NU volt mod guide...

EDIT: Wrong one, think we'll need to email Intersil for the datasheet PDF file for that Intersil controller!

    reporting to the datasheet, Vout2 = 1/2 Vout1 ( Vout1 is VDDQ )
so, the solution is to put a resistor in parallel of R6 ( i.e. between FB1 pin and ground ) to increase voltage.

Err, R6 refers to pin 6 right?

So the mod is basically: GND -> wire -> [var. pot.] -> wire -> R6 (pin 6)

    not at all
R6 is between Gnd and FB1, and FB1 is chips' pin 1.
    So the mod is GND -> pot ( i will use a 20k ) -> pin 1

    after rereading datasheet :

VDDQ mod : pot between Pin 1 and Gnd
VDDR mod : pot between Pin 4 and Gnd

dunno if vout3 is used for the core but i think it must
    in this case

VGPU mod : pot between Pin 12 and Gnd

    that's all

It helps if I actually look at the damn diagram above...

Will probably get around doing the memory voltage mod soon, cheers for the data.

i've just tried to found some easy soldering point on my Leadtek board, and actually i've found TP14 is directly connected to FB1 ( pin 1 ) but i can't say it for sure ( it's a bit difficult to done a clear vmod and watching some anime at the same time )

i think in some hours i can release a full vmod guide for 6800 and 6800 LE cards

but if someone spot a mistake ( it can arrive :/ ) don't hesitate to show them

Got a Leadtek card also, think I'm gonna wait to see how your solder on point TP14 works first before I do mines...

Well the Leadtek 6800LE/NU cards all share the same PCB so no need to.

Not sure this NV5 heatsink will take the extra heat once it's modded though!

Del Gro Badeu Thanks, and where the vmem, vgpu, vddq voltage reading points?

With a 12 Kohm resistor on the FB2, gives me 2,97v. (Vdd) And that brings me to 960Mhz
The card will do 950Mhz at 2,9v.

My friend did the mod and he used a 100Kpot for the job. Just to be safe
    And a little picture!

    Merry Christmas

i haven't searching yet ( I have a family lunch and diner actually :/ ), I will use my saturday to found them

be patient, it will arrive soon

Hygge > can you edit your title to show that is actually working for vddr, vddq and vgpu ?

    merry christmas every one

    Hello Hygge
I'm interested in doing this mod myslelf; however, I'm not sure is it really worth it. Can you tell me which memory moduls you have? I think its probably the same as mine samsung 2.2ns. My oc stock to 885 if I can run them at 950 it would be worth it.

    thanks
    Wojtek

wait 1 or 2 more days before doing this mod, it's not finished yet

actually it's only experimental and it need to solder VR directly on IC pins ( it's really difficult cause of his size )

    so be patient

    FB* -> VR ( 20k ) -> Gnd

use only one point by color to solder your VR

green : FB1 - you must prefer the round, cause it's a hole in the board ( TP 12 )
red : FB2 - you must prefer the line, cause the three pieces are connected
yellow : FB3 - think the copper round must be the easiest way to do this mod

Gnd : personally, i will use the power connector to get my gnd
