    Xtreme autocascade pool!

    A pool wich refrigerants should we use.

    R22 etc are with CO2 of course !!

    Idk. I don't think I'd want to swim in a pool cooled by a Xtreme autocascade.

    I'd have to say that only co2 should be used as the second stage refrigerant, but the first stage should be open as not everyone will want to use r290.

    I don't recommend you use a higher pressure refrigerant then r290. (I think r404a and r507 are not suitable). I think the discharge pressure will just get too high! The CO2 will add a significant amount of pressure although it doesn't condense in your air-cooled condensor. If I'll build an autocascade I'll probably add butane to the propane to lower the pressure (depends on how high the discharge pressure will get).

    well I was planning to use r22 as the first stage refrigerant. If you can't keep the hx at -30 or so the pressures for condensing the CO2 will be too high. I disagree and think that r404a and r507 can be used as low stage refrigerants. However, if I had it I would go for r414b (a drop in r12 replacement, -28c boiling point).
