    EP-9NDA3+ vmods?

Anyone looked into this yet? Thinking about picking one up but its going to need at least a vcore mod and a vdimm mod(1.7vcore 2.8vdimm). If not i should be able to get it reasonably cheap(2nd hand but nib) and post pics as the guinne pig with some help from vmodders.

I havent heard anything about this board.

If you can post the pics, we can work out the mods.

just the person i want to hear from. Hopefully the vdimm mod is the same as the nf3 250 board then at least i dont have to order anything. Looks like i'll not get it till the week of the 18th or so. I do have a nice new 4.0gp sony digital camera so i should be able to post some useable pics =)

there ya go hellfire, best i can do untill i get my digital camera to take sectional shots but its a fairly good image and the file is 11mb. might be enough to work with i dunno.

Thats not a bad pic to look over in fact.

I can see the Vcore regulator, and several other regulators.

Please see if you can identify these chips that are marked in red, and list the voltages marked in yellow.

not that ive noticed yet if you can live with 1.75vcore and 8~stock mutli. Couple minor things, like where the cmos battery is, im running a modified socket a cooler on my x800 and completely blocks it. Would have liked epox to run dimm 1&3 and 2&4 as DC but they didnt and its dimms 1&2 and 3&4(make sure you use 3&4 as i couldnt get 1t to operate in 1&2) so the rams stacked ontop of eachother.

hmm, a simple mod can fix the vcore problem

so ur sayin 8 is the lowest multi? does it take 90nm chips with stock bios?
whats the max htt it can do?

also, do u have to take out the battery anymore? i thought they made mobos now so u could just move a jumper with the power unplugged

vcore overvolts anyway =) and 8 is the lowest available in bios but ive been down to 6 with clockgen and ive run superpi at 1m 325HTT and 4m at 300HTT.

I still take the battery out, standard clear ritual of power down, unplug PS, remove cmos battery, jump cmos, replace battery, plug in and power up.

hm thats weird, on my NF7-S ur not supposed to take the battery out, ur just supposed to power down, then jump cmos, then wait a couple seconds, put cmos jumper back, and plug in PSU, and power up, and it works fine

    ow well

so how do u think this board compares with the MSI?

well i wouldnt buy a MSI, hows that? lol

Ive been use'n the same system for clearing cmos since i was messing with the dfi nf2 infinity and it stuck, worked just fine on the nf7-s 2.0 also and my asus a8v.

Its far from perfect but i want to try and solve the one or 2 issues im have'n with it before i say anything as they could be user error or just inexperience at this point.

hellfire, for some odd reason this board will not post if its not in my case i tried it with 2 powersupply's and 3 keyboards, mouse no mouse, hdd no hdd ect. put it back in my case with my cdrw/dvd fan controller and she boots right up. I didnt even take the board off the mobo tray, just slid it out.

I'll try again tomarrow to get some voltage readings for ya, and i identified those chips all but one .

Just gave the ones marked in Red a number counter clockwise 1~5

    1(upper left)
    1SL6559CB
    P0345BFDT

    2
Cant read, need a mag. Glass to see

    3
    RT9202
    C56FP0P

    4
    PM38AN
    LM339M

    5(lowest right)
    AZ32324M
    414BT

My eye's are not as good as they used to be, i'll dig up a mag. glass to check the one and double check the others tomarrow also.

Why does XS.org make me feel like im in a time loop posts and reply's to those posts ive allready read are gone maby i just need sleep

Sounds like a grounding problem to me with the boot issue.

ISL6559CB: Vcore regulator --> either pin #10 (FB) or #13 (Vsen) is mod location. Most likely it is #13 (Vsen), and not sure on trimmer value, but easy to figure out once you take a resistance between #10 and Ground, then #13 and Ground.

RT9202: Vdimm regulator (most likely) --> pin #6 is mod location. Again, not sure on trimmer value until you take a resistance between #6 and Ground.

    LM339: Could also be Vdimm.

We need the voltage readings at the specific points and on the chips as well (except for the ISL6559 chip) in order to make a better judgement call.

could be, i dont see how the motherboard tray in the case that has rubber feet would be any more/less grounded than the motherboard tray sitting on a piece of foam on a desk.

I'll give it a try again tomarrow to get the voltage readings. QuadDamage said 100k VR to pin 10 of the ISL6559CB chip for vcore and 50k VR to pin 6 of RT9202 for vdimm. Seems to match your thoughts on it, i gett the resistance readings tomarrow.

Most of the time if an IC has a FB pin, that is the target, but not always.

I would assume its the FB pin since thats the soul purpose of a FeedBack pin, but sometimes the FB pin is actually tied to sensing of the other regulators in the Vcore circuit and not tied directly to Vcore output. Thats why I suggested pin #13 (Vsen) just in case modding FB (#10) does not get the desired result.

Those resistor values sound right to me.

ok, its confirmed pin 6 of the RT9202 to ground. buddie of mine tested it with a 25k VR and sitting pretty at 3.0vdimm. still no word on the vcore mod, i assume he'll prolly be try'n it before me as his boards undervolting vcore...

here ya go. confirmed by a friend of mine use'n a 25k vr for vdimm and a 50k Vr for vcore. 50k and 100k respectively would most likely work just as well but a touch safer i think.

Please point out the Vdimm read point so we can clean up that pic and repost it with appropriate info.

Kudos to you and your friend on working out the mods.

BTW, I take it you guys arent interested in the Vdd mod, or Vtt? Does Vtt track with the Vdimm mod in place?
