Swiftech To Release HSF for GTX580

I am pleased to announce that Swiftech will soon be relasing a heatsink for nvidia GeForce GTX580 graphics cards (nvidia reference boards P1261)

Here are the initial renderings. The heatsink has mounting holes for an optional 80x15mm.

    The Heatsink features:
    - pre-installed thermal pads for the memory, and hard/mount (grease) for the VR's.
    - thru openings in the VR areas allowing air-flow to circulate under the sink.
    - compatiblity with MC60 and MCW80.

    ETA: 3~4 Weeks

Most of us moved to watercooling to get away from fans.

thats on optional low flow low rpm fan, those run 500-800 rpm normally and it will be quieter than something like say the 1500W psu that u need for overclocked 580sli

do the fans for the new line of sinks work with the graphics card headers.

which do you want, a one trick pony in a universal block or one that can also be air cooled?

oooooptional, reading instead of just looking at the pictures

    Looks good to me...
I've been thinking of getting a 580/570, and i saw this vid. from linus w/ makes me consider cutting/modding the stock heatsink and fit in an mcw80.
Planned on retaining the stock fan, then maybe add a shroud.. ......And thats before this news.

Hey gabe, have you considered a slimmer fan? Or maybe embedding it a bit on the heatsink - kind of bulky-looking on top, I like the optional fan idea.

Great that these unisinks are finaly coming..

I got a lil tired from the waiting for this blok so I fitted a unisink for the GTX480 on the GTX580.. fits like a glove!!

But I need a second unisink for my other GTX580 so I am thinking og getting one of these..

IMO passive is about the dumbest thing you can do. Passive doesn't make sense until you're watercooling your PSU(s) and only running SSD's, because up until that point, fans won't add much in terms of DB but only will add tonality to the sound.
