AMD to launch desktop Bulldozer "Zambezi" at E3 Show in L.A. (June 7-9)

I've just googled RD990 what is the codename of future 990FX chipset and I found a PDF from AMD from September 2010.

So it looks like that we have a launch date now.

So, here is an another from October:

If it's still effective then they will start the shipping of the CPUs some weeks before the launch.

I was expecting the first half of May but it's only few weeks away from there.

JF spoke about Q2 2011 for Zambezi too and June is the last month for that quarter, ofc I would have hoped it arrived a month or so sooner but since it's already march now and without any fuss made about it from AMD at all I doubt we will get it any sooner than June now.

Yes, as in the info comes from a pdf from last year, check out the OP.

No, as in I haven't seen a launch DATE before.
People have been asking for a launch date pretty much every week for the last year or so, but still, no one have ever pointed to E3 or this slide AFAIK as an answer.
    So it's news to me.

But yeah, June have been my guess for the last month or so, it makes sense.
AMD can't start production and make enough CPU's at a shorter time than that.

I think the schedule has changed since then. desktop bulldozer may happen sooner. I for one look forward to the launch of AM3+ motherboards. I am going to buy a $200 one and put a $30 Sempron 140 in it. doors = blown off

Sample in March 2011, this means those so-call "leaked bulldozer benchmark" are FAKE after all.

Not necessarily -- Engineering samples make out months if not a year for final production samples. On the flip side, this semantic use of terms does not validate them either.

Here is a 2010 October update:

But this doesn't necessarily mean that the launch has been moved forward.

Probably because AMD is a US based company.

Yes, but you can see Nov10 as an IP date for Brazos and it only became available about two months later in Jan11. If you add that two months to Zambezi's IP date then you get Jun11.

With the October update May seems very possible. Roadmaps are always subject to change.
