Sandy Bridge lets G92 SLI fly

Yesterday i got a new bios for Biostar TP67XE which allows the user to drive higher multipliers.

So i hooked up some nice 8800GTS G92 cards with voltmod but with stock cooler in SLI and managed to get some nice scores.

    System:
    2500K Retail D2 @ 5,2GHz (watercooling)
    Biostar TP67XE
    G.Skill Perfect Storm 17066 (BBSE)
    Corsair HX 850W
ASUS and MSI 8800GTS G92 with Stockcooler, vmodded vGPU and vDIMM

I had some troubles with my memory. Im not able to boot CL7 with those BBSE.
With ICs by PSC, CL 7 was possible but i didn't throwed them in this time.

    AM3 nearly 364K

    44,4K 3DMark 05

No Tweaks used, LOD has to be applied, but the usage of 260.99 Forceware is required to run SLI on 1155.

05 Performance seems strong. Need to push the vCore higher when i find time to mount my Singlestage.

The CPU can do a bit more, but is not as good as 2600Ks.
In the next days, i will improve my scores.

    With 4,8GHz, there were 30,6K 3D06 possible.

    Wow.... sick scores for water/air-cooling

After all concerns against SB... it seems to be a CPU generation with WR potential.

So hopefully the clocks will reach 6GHZ+

I have to try other memory as well. I'm not able to run Cl7-9-7, only CL 9 with DDR3 2133 is bootable on the TP67XE. Maybe PSC are running fine.

Triple cheapo nexxos radiator with alphacool Yellowstone and eheim Pump. Fans at 7V (also cheap Revoltec..)

Maximum temperature was 65 Degree Celsius, ambient temperature about 19 C

    CPU is average.

Does Biostar have nice EFI layout or any desktop EFI tweaking goodies? Also 8800GTS's woo I still rather enjoy mine.
    i3 2100, MSI H61M-E33. 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws.
MSI GTX 460 Twin Frozr II. 1TB Caviar Blue.

No other cards here, to expensive for a student like me.

I have never run it on stock, i really don't know. First boot = 4,8GHz

You do have to vmod your cards. But you have G80 A2, have fun on air with them

On desktop, you can use TOVERCLOCKER Utility. I still have to test the new version i got, first one was awful.

Biostar has a rather classic layout in bios. I like that

Nah you just have to solder two pins together to get it working

Nice work there with those 8800GTS's. Loved those cards.

Looks like SB is the new everyone can have a go platform like 8600's were. The super expensive 980X domination was locking out a lot of people.

Let's see some more benchies. I want to see if this is hands down 980x domination, if so I'm selling my 1366 and going SB asap.

    I used the P67AF103.BST Bios.
This is the first version were the internal CPU PLL Voltage override option is included.
Before, the multi is stuck at 48 with 2500K and 50 with 2600K.

Referring to the 3D Sector, Vantage and 06 is still dominated by 980X for top notch scores as long as Sandy Bridge is not able to reach high clocks above 6GHz. But for the average bencher without high end cards and limited budget, sandy bridge is a welcomed plattform.

Nice work, what about 3D06? Can your gpu go higher? My old G92 GTS did more than that before I vmodded it.

It can go higher, i haven't raised the voltage too much yet. But remember that im running SLI, Single Card is a hole different story...

3D06 i have an old screenshot of 30,6K (still with 4,8GHz because of the old bios without vPLL internal fix).

yes I didnt see that the first time through, just saw it now. I loved my old G92, I hope when I get a GTX580 that it serves me just as well ....

Oh and AM3 - is there a new version or patch or something? I havent run it in years because it crashes on start up.

Maybe you have to replace your direcpll.dll with a newer one

Here a bunch of new benchmarks @ 5,3GHz. Load vCore @ 1,58V. Cooled with Singlestage.

01 is crap because of the driver.

Change or delete direcpll.dll in aquamark folder.

    @ @rne

    Nice score
