    GTX580 voltage mod succeeded

I just flash ASUS ENGTX580 bios to EVGA card and succeeded.
(using NVFlash 5.100 in DOS, TechPowerUp's ASUS 580 bios)
Pure EVGA bios provides 1.1375V and ASUS bios offers 1.2125V.
Default core clock is also up by 10MHz and I guess its memory voltage is also increased though mem clock remains unchanged - the reason why I guess so is that, when OCing memory, EVGA@ASUS provides "much more" headroom than pure EVGA.

Pure EVGA: mem clock is bounded around 1045MHz (4180 effective)
EVGA@ASUS: mem clock is bdd around 1225MHz (4900 effective)

1 - Format an USB drive as boot. Don't know??? Learn here: http://www.bay-wolf.com/usbmemstick.htm

2 - Download NVflash plus Asus bios plus original NVidia bios from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?655mo5l5p6a067f

3 - Extract all the files (files only, not the folder) in to the USB drive

4 - Boot from USB drive

    5 - In DOS mode, use the command: nvflash -4 -5 -6 asus.rom

    6 - ctrl + alt + del for reboot

7 - reinstall video driver if necessary

PS: if you use more than one vga (SLI or tri-SLI), use the commands:

    nvflash -i0 -4 -5 -6 asus.rom ...... this for the first vga (-i "zero")
    nvflash -i1 -4 -5 -6 asus.rom ...... this for the second
    nvflash -i2 -4 -5 -6 asus.rom ...... this for the third

    Sorry for my english.

Does nvflash work within Windows ? Or safest via DOS boot disk?

Edit: jeez i know I have done this before but not in a long time .... now I use the Hp tool and the three main files dont appear on the usb stick yet when I try to copy them over windows says they are already there and do I want to overwrite, I tried yes and no yet they still are not visible, also the pc wont boot from the usb as it doesnt appear to see the three dos os files .... wtf .... is this due to Win7? Or because the stick is fat32?

@aussie-revhead: assuming you did everything correctly, then it's just your usb stick being stupid (doesn't matter win7, you could try format to FAT instead, useful for smaller usb sticks like 512MB or less). i've had a few usb sticks that refused to work correctly for some unknown reason (mostly the newer hp ones). sandisk ones always worked well for me. use nvflash in dos mode only. otherwise you would use winflash or something like that. but i dont trust it, so i always do it in dos mode.

I tried another stick and it did the same thing ... weird.... is it the 64bit environment? Will a 32bit install fix this problem or do I need to dig up an old pc?
