    Tessellation masters challenge!

Think your owning unigine heaven on extreme? Think again. This test is not for those of the faint of heart. You will prove yourself MEN though by taking this challenge.

    Heres what you do:

Set tessellation to extreme, AA/AF to 8x/16x, resolution to 1680*1050
    Start heaven
Before running the benchmark click "tessellation" and set Scale, Factor, and Distance all to 2.0
    Run the benchmark

He who comes through this challenge with a average FPS over 30 can consider themselves a hero. Screenshots of your heroism is of course a must.

    Didn't feel like overclocking CPU.
This is with drivers set to "Let 3D application decide"

With set to emphasize Performance it score 640, FPS 25.4

Was this supposed to be hard?....

My CPU was just putting along at 3.6Ghz.....I left it at my 24/7 folding speeds, I forgot to overclock it back to my gaming specs

Man the tessellation is to much, those rocks on the pathways and roads, I dont want to be the people walking on them lols . And this was 16xx, I can only imagine at 19xx and up .

Also using 2 GTX 465, I hope thats not cheating X_X

Overclock your GPU's and you'll easily get over 30fps avg. Tessellation is one area where the GTX465 easily out runs the GTX460 since the GTX465 has 11 streaming multi processors (or polymorph engines as Nvidia calls them) vs the GTX460's 7.

....and using 2 GPU's is no more cheating than me using 3

Actually, this test was meant for one GPU but I didn't mention anything out of curiosity for how well 2 or 3 GPUs would do. I'm a bit skeptical about if some people read the guidelines right though setting Scale, Factor, and Distance all to 2.0 the GPU(s) will be hit heavy and I can't see a SLI setup hitting 53FPS, a quad SLI setup sure, but seems a push for a dual setup. Anyway, the main point in this was to have a accurate way to truely judge a GPUs firepower. Once a GPU comes along that can handle over 30FPS with the above guidelines met, we will know we have a powerful GPU

Everything was set as you requested, from resolution, to AA & AF, to scale, factor and distance to 2.0.

What would I really have to gain by making my score up? That's what overclocked Tri SLI GTX470's does to your "tessellation masters challenge"

Your GTX460 has not even half the polymorph engines that his GTX480 has (GTX460 has 7, GTX480 has 15) those are what processes tessellation on the Nvidia cards. Now he has 2 GTX480's running at 850+mhz core. That's 30 polymorph engines eating this "masters challenge" for breakfast. Why do you find it so hard to believe? Just like my minimum was 31.8fps and my average was 77.6fps. It's because I have 42 polymorph engines (each GTX470 has 14) on my side for this "challenge"

Maybe you should specify it's only for GTX460's if you don't want to feel outgunned?

Yea run benchmark set all 3 tesselations options to 2.0
i did that and you got my results

Be pretty dumb to try to cheat considering many others here have dual 480 setups

just for the hell of it here is my results with Scale, Factor, and Distance all at 1.0

ATI cards only have a single hardware tessellation unit. I'd bet the 6k series introduces a second or even third. If not.. well ATI really dropped the ball.
