With the price tag of over a hundred dollars now, it is definitely not worth it. Unless you have any special needs such as a cramped case or a multi-processor setup, don't buy it at this price. At least wait a while until the price drops down.
directron has it for 97 shipped

a basic loop with a rad,cpu block,pump.2 fans will run around $200 and would be better for higher Overclocking

Swiftech Apogee XT CPU Waterblock

i would take the money you would use for the h70 and put it towards something like what i put together above. i don't have these exact parts.

I hate the thought of these self-contained units, but the H70 shows really nice temps for the price tag. The H50 shows temps similar to other heatsinks, but the H70 seems to be the victor. It isn't so expensive when you factor in the cost of one or two fans when you buy a heatsink.

IMHO, I will buy it once the price comes down. Something like 75-80ish.
Id be useful in my college CM Scout case so i could fit a second side fan.
But other then that I wouldnt get anything over my Mega

The price isn't going to go down... it's a lot of stuff for a decent price, I doubt there is anyway they could lower it.

it jus boils down to..
do you like it?
do you have the money for it?
if yes to both, then buy it

Be carefull, the coolant hoses on the H70 are about 3 inches shorter than the H50 so it won't work with alot of cases now. They shortened it to work specifically with Corsair's own cases better.....

I meant as a general rule, if you aim low, something's going to smack you in the head.

in terms of water cooling, I thought closed-loops were the lowest you could aim w/o making clearly poor choices in the first place.
H50 hoses = 29cm each
H79 hoses = 21cm each

Guess you didn't see post from Redbeard there confirming fitment based around 800D case.
I use that pump in my 24/7 build. it outperforms the DDC 3.1 by a large margin...near 3.2 performance. It's completely silent other than a little vibration, I can't hear it over my 1600 RPM Yate Loons.'
The EK DCP 4.0 is a proven pump as well. Best perf/reliability/ vs price pump IMO.
the radiator and tubing is not going to fail, and thats a proven block.
Those are quality parts, nothing aiming low about it. The Swiftech rads are solid rads at crazy low prices, I love my MCR320.
(My loop consists of:
MCR320/Yate Loon 1600RPM soon to be 1850RPM GT's,
OCZ HydroPulse 800, same as EK DCP 4.0
Primochill LRT 7/16 5/8 clear
HeatKiller Rev 3.0 LT
1/2 EK High Flow barbs + clamps
Swiftech MicroRes v2)
Basically that same $130 loop with an HK 3.0 subbed for the Enzotech Sapphire and MCR220 vs MCR320 without the res.

where did he say that????????????????? His quote is below, I do not see any mention of the 800D, or maybe I am just reading it wrong.
I think the reason the hoses are shorter are do to this reason, quote below. This is correct. The thickness of the radiator/fan assembly made the hoses stick out over the memory sockets when installed, also it made the hoses stick out past the side panel in some smaller cases, which isn't really cool.
Since the vast majority of cases will be installing the H50/H70 in the rear 120mm fan position, the shortened cables didn't hugely affect compatibility except for guys who are using a different form-factor case (like the Lian-Li A05N series, for example).
It wasn't an easy decision, but it was the best compromise.
the H70 radiator assembly, due to the depth of the two fans, extends farther into the case than the H50. In prototype testing this caused severe bends and kinking in the hoses for most mobo CPU locations and necessitated shortening the hoses.
