Why do you want a raid contoller?

The ICH is an excellent performer, I cant think of any controller that beats the ICH using 2 drives.

I saw this topic that compare ICH10 with ARECA ( thousand dollars )

I don't know if I understood right, but i see more performance using Areca controller.
    Sorry for my bad english.

What you are seing are the effects of the 4GB cache module on the Areca controller. (it sort of out-smarts some of the benchmarking utilities)

The Areca is a great controller especially with the 4GB module installed but in real life performance the ICH is just as great for a small number of SSDs.

My advice is to stay on the ICH, for 3 or more drives a raid controller can be an option as one exceeds the bandwith on the ICH. (660-700MB/s)
This is the case for synthetic benchmarks, in real life you'd struggle getting any application to exceed this limitation.

YES shame it's only just capable using two drives as i just found out testing SSDs

2 drive and 4 drive performance is just about the same

    next test adaptec 51245 controller

So max is 660-700 on the ich controller? Seems like its just about right for running raid0 with the crucial's w00t

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?
