maybe its a new silicon revision, i dont why they would rename it without having the full 512 shaders though, and i would doubt that it actually runs cooler and dose not just have a higher fan speed or better fin design i doubt that its lower wattage or that it will be significantly different but maybe

My 286 CPU overclocked more than 20Mhz via the "Turbo" button...back in the day.
so isn't it coming with the full 512 SP, PLUS the additional 20 mhz clock speed. you guys sound like it's just coming out on new silicon, 480 sp, and only 20mhz bump

they are talking about some gf104, which is running at 20 mhz core clock higher than a gtx 480, conveniently not mentioning the fact that its lacking in many other ways.

Time to correct some misinformation. The "Turbo" button featured on many older systems did not overclock your processor.
- With "Turbo" turned on, your CPU runs at its normal rated clockspeed.
- With "Turbo" turned off, your CPU is underclocked below its rated clockspeed. This was done so that clockspeed-dependent applications would not run too fast on newer computers.
Thus, "Turbo" is a bit of a misnomer. I suppose a more accurately named "make my computer slower" button wouldn't have caught on as well with consumers
Improved cooling? Can just always buy a non-reference card...

right... 20mhz... improved cooling over 480? improved how? a 2000cfm fan?
that heatsink is as good as it gets for that size... the only way to make it better is more airflow or making it bigger than the card itself
