Will you still need to SLI another physical card to get Surround support? Not that I think surround will ever actually materialize, but if it does I'd like to know

Because everybody thinks there is nothing inside when nVidia shows cooler?

NVidia needs a double-GPU to break the price from the top (and down) anyways, lets hope they can pull this off.

i wonder if this is an nvidia design... i dont think so...
the dual 8pin connectors seem to be reeeaallly in the way for ln2 pots, so this is gonna be annoying...

looks good tho, its def a 470 and not 480, so that makes sense...
but im pretty sure itll be slower than 470SLI, so... i dont know how much sense it makes except for marketing so you can claim you have the fastest CARD...

The dual 8-pins need to go on the back for sure.

Nice that it supports 3 DVI ports.

As for this over two cards... idk. I wouldn't touch this w/o a water block, and a good one at that.

i dont think that that would be a good idea unless its really low clock but then its not a good idea, i figured that they would have waited for a smaller die to do that. also whats with the 8 chips is the back populated i thought that the 470 used 10

    GF100-275-A3, 10 memory chips = GTX 470 or unlockable GTX 465
    GF100-030-A3, 8 memory chips = GTX 465

This one looks like two GTX 465's put together. Probably they will underclock them also to fit thermal requirements.

    Yeah - this is a dual GTX465. IOW: slower than a HD5970

Have somebody seen the back of the card? XbitLabs talks about room for aditional memory chips for making double GTX 480. This on the picture is GTX 465 but there could be another memory chips on the other side.

There is absolutely no way this can be faster than a 5970 if they keep it under 300w. The 8+8 proves it's going to be near 375W as well.

If this is not a Nvidia design, I think it pretty much proves that Nvidia won't have a GTX 490. Instead it will rely on partners making dual Fermi boards with humongous power draw. This way they won't need to stay under 300w - these cards will be like ASUS' Mars or Ares cards; produced in very few numbers and more power draw than 300w.

The only problem with this assumption is, since there will be no reference Nvidia card for 470x2; it won't be compared to a reference 5970 when it comes to "who's got the fastest card" race. This Galaxy card, if released, will probably be faster than a reference HD5970, but it's not really possible that it will also be faster than the ASUS' 5970 card running at 900mhz instead of 725. So unless they make a reference dual board that will be compared to a reference 5970, the "fastest" card will be AMD's under all circumstances.
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
