The first review ASUS GTX 465 !!!

Here I will compare the performance of ASUS GTX 465 and ASUS GTX 285 TOP

    My system
    CPU Core i7 Extreme 965 @ 3.6GHz
    Mainboard ASUS Rampage II Gene
    RAM 3x2GB DDR3
VGA ASUS GTX 465, ASUS GTX 285 TOP
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit RTM
    Driver NVIDIA 257.15 beta 64bit

Crysis Warhead. 1680*1050, NoAA, Enthusiast DX10, ambush map

    ASUS GTX 285 TOP

    ASUS GTX 465

    Call of Juarez DX10. 1680*1050, AA=4X Multi_sampling, Max Settings

    ASUS GTX 285 TOP

    ASUS GTX 465

    S.T.A.L.K.E.R Call of Pripyat DX11. 1680*1050, AA=4X, Max Settings

ASUS GTX 285 TOP No Tessellation

    ASUS GTX 465 Tessellation=ON

You see, the GTX465 is not entirely weaker than GTX285 TOP, just remember that this is the GTX285 TOP, core/shader/ memory 670/1550/1300 (default clock of the GTX285 is only 648/1476/1242)

Do you say that GTX465 is a less powerful than GTX275 ?

I have checked with stock fan, GTX465 activity was stable at core/memory 650/840. Room temp 30oC, fan set 87%

I use furmark to test the temperature of GTX465@650/840. Furmark run 20'

    Temp Max 77oC

In Dirt2 and Bad Company 2, performance of GTX465 is on par with GTX285 TOP and better than GTX285 TOP in Metro 2033.

    GTX465 can't play Metro 2033 DX11 at resolution 1680*1050.

Actually, is better in all the test in minimum, wich is great, not for too far better, but something is something, and can be improved with new drivers.

Im also waiting to see the OC power of it! Have you tried some bigger OC and stable? Maybe 750Mhz at the core rock solid will be great

    Amazing job sir!

Would be tons of better to read if you would use graphs instead of those big and messy screenshots.

This card actually looks pretty decent, if it isn't expensive.

Hopefully the 8800 effect will mean some aggressively clocked versions on the next die shrink

It looks to me this is the direct result of driver level optimizations. Perhaps the OP needs to do all his test using High Quality Texture Filtering and removing any other optimizations so that these type of inconsistencies don't happen.

Pretty nice, thats exactly the same heatsink as the ref gtx470 so temp should be lower than a gtx 470.
