Looking forward to some scores again from you and Brian aka the AMDIwantToBlowYaSocksOff crew...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

    Double trouble.

We have both already used this board on ln2. IIRC we ran it through at least 15 cold cycles and it's still working fine but we noted some issues. Hopefully these issues can be addressed for the cold guys.

We hit this in pretesting on ln2.

Things to note. There seemed to be some form of OVP/OCP kicking in with most chips trying to boot over 4000 NB and 1.725 vcore/1.50NB vid. ASUS afaik is already working on it.

Meanwhile I'm gonna join msimax and do some testing with more common cooling.

First complaint is with an average user cooler my GTX/GTX2 ram spreaders interfere height wise with my xiga 1284, that means both my megahalems when oriented in this direction and my TRUE 120 will also interfere.

Due to having my megahalems on a another system testing currently I will just use some OCZ BE 1600 c7 ram for air testing which have plenty of clearance.

Side note......I find the fact that this has IDE to be freaking awsome as the CH4 formula renders my IDE drives useless ( which i have quite a few of ) unless using a sata to IDE converter.

    Air testing
    1090T
    ASUS M4a89TD Pro 890FX
    OCZ BE 1600 c7
    PC P&C 1200
    xigamatek 1284 cpu cooler.

Forgot to patch so clocks are bouncing all over the place. Real speed 217X19.5 = 4231

C&Q kicking in even though disabled is sort of annoying. I like the clocks to run full blast all the time when I want them to.

All benches run in the same boot no reboots/reruns to boost score. Just looking for baseline stability.

    Prime 95 next.

Hi, chew*, what's your OCZ Black Edition's maximum ram clock/timings on this board?

Ok running prime 95 is certainly a chore. Atm I am pinning it on voltage regulation. This board reminds me of my m4a79_T ddr II board alot. It's not a droop isssue a mod can fix because even with LLC enabled which I usually don't use there is still quite a bit of fluctuation.

I will break out the probe later and get some measure points and "real" voltage readings in a little bit but i'm preety sure what i am going to find is voltage all over the place.

1.50 vcore no llc = less than 1.45 under load.

    1.450 vcore with llc enabled = 1.50vcore.

Keep in mind until confirmed those are just software readings.

So far the best combo for me for stability is CPU_Vcore LLC on, CPU_NB LLC off.

Also when pushed hard, system seems to hang on post FFDO after bios setting chenges sometimes which on most port 80's works out to D0 = cpu initial, a simple reset keeps settings and boots.

Sad to see the same problems like on my M4A89GTD... HT fluctuation is killing me, I can't disable C'n'Q, the same thing with the combination "LLC vCore on/LLC CPU-NB off" and the voltages when LLC is on/off.
There's one strange thing - sometimes C'n'Q get disabled somehow, and it stays disabled before I reset the system.
Many times when a general change is made in bios the system doesn't post, even if I've set everything back without OC, reset solves it...
BTW, sorry to ask in this thread, since it's for another board, yet very similar, regardless the different chipset...does anyone know where are the voltage measure points on the board, I'm not very deep in that matter?

I'm using week 15 retails that I binned on ln2.......take that for what it is, this chip is one of the lesser chips that I kept, the best chips don't get hammered on air/water.

CH4 is a totally diff board so settings will be diff.

Normal ambients room is about 75F atm.

Binned on ln2 does not mean great on air/water, in fact it usually means worse but ln2 is all that matters to me.

Infrared I will see if I can get correct read points for both boards later today.

Ditching prime 95 until some of this is sorted. Chip is good for 4.1 prime 95 and 4.0 is a struggle currently.

Another week15 1090T with strong IMC
A budget board can do pretty well on air
As Chew* said, there're problems with NB over 4xxx under extreme cooling
Dun no if the 1455 bios can overcome

I sent this motherboard back to ASUS today...my experiences are very very good and with my Athlon II X3 425 wasn't problem to do 400MHz+ Bus Speed on airI think, it's great board and it's very good choice in non-highend segment

I'm never at liberty to leak bios's. Rules are rules. Sure there are others that aren't under the obligations that I am however.

I actually had a couple chips booting at 4200 on this board but for the most part 4000 was the wall. Workaround is to treat it like an OCP/OVP issue, Shut PSU off till power light goes out, then reboot and it will boot into windows fine, it's just annoying.

That sounds way too familiar with me...not to mention I've had to do that a good 5 times lately.
    ...
Couldn't you guys boot at a low HT Ref. and NB multi and OC it via AOD?
