Corsair GTX 2 testing stage 1 X58 chipset

Lets have a look at the modules

So first I'd like to state that i'm preety much a nub to intel so I'm gonna keep it simple play with primary timings and see what these can do through a range of speeds.
Second I'd like to state no B2B tricks here.

    The System
    Intel core I7 920 DO
    Corsair dominator GTX 2 3x2g CL8 2250mhz
    Gigabyte EX58-UD3R
    misc vidcard
    Win 7 ultimate no tweaks
    Custom watercooling

    First up Cas 6

    6-6-6 1800 1.65v

    6-6-6 1840 1.665v

    6-6-6 1850 1.71v

    6-6-6 1872 1.76v

    6-7-6 1880 1.71v

    7-7-6 1900 1.71v

    7-7-6 1950 1.71v

    7-7-6 2000 1.71v

    7-7-7 2050 1.71v

    7-8-7 2100 1.71v

    8-8-7 2150 1.665v

    8-8-8 2200 1.665v

That concludes water testing. Unfortunately I was not able to acchive spec but that isn't corsairs fault. As you will see in stage 2 they can do spec very easily and the cpu is to blame and needs cold to scale further. I might add that while i left voltage at 1.712 for most of those runs it obviously was not necessary for the majority I just found it easier to leave voltage at what i felt was a safe operating level.

    Stage 2 cold testing
    The System
    Intel core I7 920 DO
    Corsair dominator GTX 2 3x2g CL8 2250mhz
    Gigabyte EX58-UD3R
    misc vidcard
    Win 7 ultimate no tweaks
    Custom Dry Ice Pot

    7-7-6 2100 1.712v

    7-7-7 2150 1.728v

    7-8-7 2200 1.728v

    8-8-8 2350 1.665v
I was just fooling with my uncore on this one

    8-8-8 2400 1.712v

That wraps it up folks, as you can see these sticks can do spec and quite a bit more. Unfortunately they won't pull spec on most cpu's due to uncore limitations at XX temps.
The sticks certainly live up to there hype and get an A+ reccomendation for the hardcore benchers that must have absolute performance under cold temp ranges.
Be sure to tune back in to Stage 2 when I test potential on P55 platform

I've got no strings to hold me down.
To make me fret, or make me frown.
I had strings but now I'm free.
There are no strings on me
