We've just gotten hold of some pictures and information about XFX new HD 5970 monster. The card will be a limited Black Edition model and even though final specs aren’t revealed yet a document we've seen says it’s going to be the highest specced Black Edition card so far.

And did I say it will be shipping inside a machine gun? XFX is not very friendly with NVIDIA either it seems making some really bold statements about "who really has the big Guns".

Price is going to be around 1000 USD and other competitors are of course ASUS Ares and Sapphires 4GB card.

yeah its good to be the king but too much for too little.
1000usd+ is insane and the 2g 5870 is rumored to be 525usd and is also insane

I disagree - if I would have the money for a (lame) car like that I would prefer buying these pieces of hardware (and a truck of LN2 of course )

Its a unique card/box for sure. Besides the EF6 feature I think ASUS has it nailed down coming to performance though, if we look at their custom PCB and cooler. But we'll have to wait and see.
