    ASUS Maximus III Extreme - P55 / 1156

I got this board last week. It is super easy to use with new clarkdale CPU's.

Here is some pictures of board and all new features:

First aircooled results will follow a bit later. The bios is still very early, so need to wait for it.

Clarkdale is so weak in everything else, but 1M and 05.
Memory is running 6-7-6 settings (CPU-Z bug)

This looks a lot better than the non-extreme version. I've had problems during my test with my sample (MFIII only) but one thing I don't understand is why Asus placed ProbeIT and the diagnostics LEDs near the ATX power connector where it would be partially/fully blocked by the cables when mounted in a case.

I'm looking forward to my sample of this board, too. Our review(s) isn't really as big and as glorious as what you guys do but we're the only one doing this in our country That, and we're near Taiwan.

Too bad Asus when back to on-board audio I think most of us prefer not to have it.

First post is updated with some aircooled results. Clarkdale is very weka CPU in tests, but you will get the rough idea.
Memory is running 6-7-6 (CPU-Z bug)

I am waiting new bios, so BCLK + memory testing results will come later.

Yes.. I was doing I II III dance during benching

Here is the first short LN2 tests done in Assembly winter 2010. That was my first touch with this motherboard, so nothing serious there.

Temperature was only -135C° during benchmarks.

can anybody know or say when this board will launch/ hit retail??? I want it so bad I can taste it! I loved my old maximus extreme. asus had planned a P45 asus maximus 2 extreme but with 1366 and 1156 they trashed it.

Sorry about the pause in updates.

Just tested the new bios and it fixed a lot of issues. Now the product seems to be ready.

Need to find better CPU and get some LN2 for it next.

sholvaco- I can try later. Why do you need it?

    tiny update

Tested the latest 0504 bios and now it is starting to look good. I tested my 661 ES CPU and it is better than my other retails.

Memory ratios are working fine (Only one stick, cause I can't fit two under noctua NH-D14 )

Tested some QPI link capabilities on air. It is getting better...

Tested some random 3D as well. OK.

Some BCLK abilities + CPU freq. ~ nothing too impressive

    Nice results Sf3d

The 504 BIOS is definitely a nice little improvement.

I got the 504 BIOS to test too. It says it will fix some memory compatibility problem, e.g. Corsair 2000GTC7 2GX3. This RAM is not working @ 503 BIOS.

And I found that CPU-Tweaker 1.4b10 is not fully tweakable for some important sub-timings, some timings is not actually changed after press APPLY. So I have to manually to change it from BIOS rather from AUTO.

bandwidth after change timings in BIOS @ 240X20 from 96XXMB/s raise to 14XXXMB/s.
