Hmmm..178° H x 178° V, 5ms response. Seems like IPS but the price is very good. Must be E-IPS, which is still great. This is a competitor to the NEC 23" E-IPS, and being LED back-lit and 24", it should win.

Gah! You're right. They pulled one over on me. All talk up until this point indicated they were going to be LED.

    Here's the datasheet: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/pscmi...eet_120409.pdf
It does have a DisplayPort connection BTW.

The ZR24w delivers outstanding visual performance with its S-IPS panel for enhanced color accuracy at ultra-wide viewing angles, 16.7M displayable colors, 1920 x 1200 resolution, 5 ms response time and 3000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
theres your panel type, too bad its not LED, but its a good sign that IPS is coming down in price finally

I agree, nec 23" its the best IPS panel for the price right now and doesn't have a good competition in its category for the price, its cost just as same as some TN panels! though the panel is suffering from color uniformity its what's holding for some people grabbing one and by other hand some DELL's U2410 are suffering from tint issues...lets see how good this HP performs! also 16:10 is a plus! (screw 16:9!!) I hope it doesn't suffers from the issues mentioned!

    http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en...1-4101127.html
the 22" is 1920x1080(1920x1200 in the specs) and the 24" is 1920x1200

i saw that too, but i think the overview is just saying it supports the 1080p HD resolution, not that its the max resolution.

Well the 22' one actually has 8ms response. These seem like a great deal for sure though
Seems we made our greatest error when we named it at the start
for though we called it "Human Nature" - it was cancer of the heart

if input lag is like nec 23" (which is 14ms) 8ms would not be a problem! 14ms on that nec feels like 5-8ms and most of the reviews haven't noticed any ghosting at all either!

Our S-IPS monitors are quite good. I've been using one at work for more than a year now and it's excellent, especially cause I noticed it doesn't fatigue the eye at all, not like the TN panel I got home. But frankly, I'm a bit disappointed too, I think LED technology should be a must for any new monitor. I wouldn't switch the one I have for anything other than a LED backlit 120hz panel.

yeah at this time spending a high amount of money on ips panels could regret the decision over not picking a LED TN 120hz display (unless you're a graphic designer, photoshop editor etc.), also ViewSonic V3D241wm is the first 120hz HD display with LED backlight! so theres the display you're looking for
