384 bit bus width! should have done that with 5870 but this makes sense for a refresh

Somehow I find it hard to believe they're going to move to a 28nm process when they're having problems with the 40nm process. I'd surely like to see it, but I'm not holding my breathe.

Yeah, 28nm would be a joke right now unless someone is hiding something. Whole image looks like a wishful fake thing.

Nice power consumption for the 5890. I hope 2gb is the standard!

All systems sold. Will be back after Sandy Bridge!

well the time frame looks fishy , but Gf is skipping 32nm and going straight to 28nm. I think this is the same move as they did with the 4770 to test the process.

    QFT!
Adobe is working on Flash Player support for 64-bit platforms as part of our ongoing commitment to the cross-platform compatibility of Flash Player. We expect to provide native support for 64-bit platforms in an upcoming release of Flash Player following the release of Flash Player 10.1.

there are quite a few flaws in that spec sheet. first is the bus width(384), which ATI will not shift to anytime soon since GDDR5 speeds are on the rise

Secondly, even if the 384bit bus is true, those memory capacities are impossible. 1024/2048 on a 384bit bus? Zz
Third, with the current 40nm process, and the performance scaling of more shaders in this architecture, a change in clockspeed will have much more of an effect than adding 320 shaders. So, they will not try to widen the architecture to accomodate more shaders, achieve not that much more performance, and lower the yields even further. Also 28nm in Q1? ROFL

I bet the 5890 will be a 5870 with boosted clocks. And that will own. End of

Yeah unless Global Foundries or TSMC beat their target date for 28nm really skeptical the refreshes in 28nm won't be out till late 2010. http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,6...oundries/News/

This is fake. 28nm before, at the earliest, 2H10 is just not happening
Seems we made our greatest error when we named it at the start
for though we called it "Human Nature" - it was cancer of the heart

Bandwidth is needed for Eyefinity @ highres w/aa.Condemned and crysis @ 3*24'' or 30'' w/high aa would be a nice benchmark.

well they still could bump clocks, add more ram, and two 8 pin to the 5990 and still do it on the 40nm process. As for the other stuff I doubt that.

Before the 5000 series were released I do remember reading about the 5890 and that it would have 384 bit bus....
