I'm going to go with ol' reliable, Win 98. I'm hoping to upgrade to XP for Christmas. (if the wife can take a hint)
Ive used 98, 98se & 2kpro... Played with XP. So far, hands down, 2k pro all the way... no doubts about it...
XP Pro for me ! It'S been a long time since I last upgraded, and XP is a great OS upgrade, from Win98 or ME. I just can't stand the new interface !

98 cant handle 512mb of memory hahah
98 first edition crashed every 30ish minutes when i was using with 256![]()

the second edition crashed often but that was every other day or so.![]()
as it goes in windows 2kpro is the best![]()

I have 98First on dual boot with XP, 98 crashed only 1 in 1 month. And system resources are 94% every boot up ! (nothing in startup !)

If I had to choose an upgrade ? Which one: 2K or XP? I see their about the same price!
Honestly, the only crashes I have, are the ones I bring on myself with outrageous settings! I do realize it's time to upgrade though!![]()
i would go with 2k pro

I haven't been too keen on MS operating systems for sometime but I have to say at this time for all around general usage, XP is very good. If Linux could ever get the Hardware support that MS gets from the MFG's then I would vote Linux (Mandrake or RedHat) hands down.
I,m hooked on win2k, although have just installed xp and looks interesting. In case i forgot welcome to the forums Dramen.
Appreciated, ThanksHope I can contribute something worthwhile.
We could of course use you on the Folding And Seti Team. Not that I,m being pushy. *shove towards Folding Forum*Originally posted by Dramen
