    5970 is $600. Don't know where you got 700 from unless it's a custom.

Also it's way cheaper than getting 2 5870's and I don't see how it's not worth it if it performs similar to 2 GTX295's? Sounds like a good deal to me.

@Vit^pr0n do u know 5970 is not in stock anywhere and if it is in stock, nerds buy them up in seconds. I found one in ebay for $733 and if the yield of 5970 does not improve i'll have to pay around $700 to get it.

    Nerds? Wow.

Yes, they're hard to find. It's a flagship model like 2 weeks after release. Calm down, it'll get better.

Still doesn't make the card not worthy of a purchase. The 5970 isn't going anywhere and isn't going to have competition for months. What's the rush? Blame TSMC for the stock. ATi have said that stock will get better in the coming weeks.

they will be in stock again soon there is a lack of chips since tsmc did a re-tune so it knocked a week or 2 out of the chip line and there was a shortage before that. but the new yeilds should be better.

i also dont see why this is a surprise to any1 its exactly the same as 2x5870 once u clock it up

If you've been having no issues with your GTX295 on that PSU you'll be fine. The 5970 uses a tad more watts ( 20-30 ) according to reviews so you're fine.

That's nuts. 1 5970 (2 gpus) vs 2 cards (4 gpus). The 5970 really needs some water cooling and you'll be laughing.
The 8+8 pin version should be amazing.

Seems this is mostly true in the cases where quad-sli doesn't give much benefit over a single 295

third party's like XFX (which will probably be the one who releases it) don't generally leak anything.

Guess their drivers are getting better, 5870 in CF and 5970 used to have lower numbers.
    Can't wait for 9.12!

Why did Ati "release" all of their stuff and then it's not available for months?
