As much as I admire your enthusiasm Eddy and think it does deserve some money but it does not mean you can punch my mom, rape my sister and spank my monkey (<--maybe should have said dog). It is a little expensive!

    thats my thinking as well.

seems like the tops for D5's are few and fare between and cost alot when you find them... what's with all the D5 hating?!

wish XSPC would start making stuff for the pumps.

    About the price,
I can guarantee you it is not over priced.
You cant imagine how much time it takes to make all three parts of the top plus the accessories to mount it anywhere you want.
If you'll take it apart you will know...

i will gladly take a sample to see just how intricate the top is

while i understand thats true, why is the DDC dual top cheaper, alot cheaper?

i understand the DDC is only 1 piece, but that to me means if there are any mess ups, the whole thing has to be scrapped.

is there any tests out on the new D5 dual?

EDIT: do you have any internal pictures by the way?

Yes the DDC dual turbo top is made of one piece and no accessories.

looks good internally. any thoughts of releasing one with just the basic parts, the only extra stuff i see is o-rings, 5 1/4 brackets and option have the multi res addon.

It's not for everyone. This is for the most extreme users and what they ask is is this extreme? Yes it is!

On their website it says November 18th so I presume it'll be VERY VERY shortly. Heck, I guess the 5800 blocks were on his "TO DO LIST" in terms of demand and this got "sidetracked" a bit

    Looks impressive.

About the price...this is a three-part assembly and it takes a lot of machining time to make them look like this. The bottom part (looking at the picture) seems not like a big deal, but the rest two need 3-axis surface machining and that takes time. It is a fact that acetal could me machined far faster than copper or brass (twice or more machining depths, higher feedrates) and the material should be far cheaper (especially compared to copper) but it still takes time, and in CNC world that has to be reflected in a final product price a lot.

One probably stupid question at the end of my comment: what is the large hole with a inner thread there for?

It allows you to install an EK Multioption Link part there so you can mount a res directly to this pump top.

    I understand where you're coming from, (production-)time = money.
I wouldnt say overpriced i guess, but definately expensive.

That's what i hate the D5 for, it may be a reliable decently powered pump, but it is inferior to the DDC in all aspects, short of unrestricted flow, which is irrelevant. It requires the stupid ring to keep it together, the DDC just needs some screws. It's large, its ugly, and the only reservoir top in the world costs as much as the pump itself. Its a really awesome top you made, eddy, just a shame it wont be what a lot of people are looking for.

I hope the dual DDC version you hinted at a while back will be a lot cheaper. If it is I'm thinking of getting it depending on whether or not my financial situation even allows more WC gear

Going to have to pick one of these up sometime to play around with. Got to buy the link too for the res. Got a few ideas I want to try out with this. May actually buy 2 of these.
