new TRIM firmware release next week

quick and short: intel will finally launch a new firmware to address the SSD bricking problem with TRIM support.

background: i just got off the phone with an intel rep yesterday to ask for an RMA and asked a few questions. he said they have replicated the problems found in dead SSD's and the new updated firmware is pretty much complete. this new firmware that will include TRIM it will be released to the public next week. no direct link to any sources because it was over the phone.

btw, for the few hours left, happy thanksgiving to all the fellow north americans

EDIT: here, they released it already. >>LINKY<<

    Nice to hear

I been waiting for this update a couple of weeks to complete my win 7 install. Of course I could install win 7 right away and update firmware later, but I like to have everything ready when I first install (incl. TRIM)

BTW, I dont think they release a new firmware version, but just an updated version of the flash tool?

Exactly. Probably won't be seeing issues addressed with RAID until Gen 3. Still find it kind of funny people who buy multiple ssds and big $$$$ to squeeze out every last iotta of performance only to see it drain away with use because of no RAID trim support.
