Modern Warfare 2 PC release starts with DVD Errors !!

For those of you who are PC gamers, you should wait on buying Modern Warfare 2 from the retailers. The PC version comes with 2 discs but it seems that only the actually game is working and not the extra content.

The first DVD/Disc is about 6.9 GB which seems to be the standard size for games that are coming out now. Unfortunately, each drive refuses to recognize the DVD. The DVD drives rattle around and you can hear the disc just clattering in the DVD Drive. Now when something like this happens, questions comes to mind and that is if this is a manufacturing defect and if there are other discs out there that have this problem.

A German game magazine reports the same problem. Every drive in their editorial office refuses the second DVD (they have seven PC's and four copies Modern Warfare 2 for PC). They say it’s definitly a production error.

Haha, IW cannot even burn the game onto DVD properly any more.
Does anyone at all think they are still able to make a decent game?..

Do I think the game is decent? I think it WOULD'VE BEEN the best pc game ever! My opinion of course. But destroying the pc community with their actions of late I will not play the pc version!!!

This is completely unrelated to their screwing of lately towards the PC gaming community. This is a problem caused by the pressing plant they contracted to duplicate the DVDs.

The game is selling poorly and they will probably get a lot of returns from gamers unhappy about the multiplayer because they didn't the news. The game never went over 4th position on Steam, Borderlands has sold more copies, L4D2 too. A lot of preorders were cancelled on Amazon and different retail stores.

They will still blame it on piracy, as they always do. The fact that they transformed an epic game into a lemon has nothing to do with it of course

ofc theyl blame piracy for poor PC sales. Even though the only platform it is being pirated on is the Xbox360.

A week ago they (i think IW) said that the game had leaked and was being pirated on PC and Xbox360 wich is pure BS and they know it. You can download the PC version but there is no crack for it and there wont be one till the game is out.

IW just doesnt understand that if i wanted to play a castrated console version of this game i would have bought it for my PS3.

I was considering the 360 version but alas Microsoft have declined that optio, 2nd RROD of 2009 this morning... still on my 1st edition PS3 but the 360... 4th since release.

IW are on a roll lately:

Alienate PC gamers....check
Alienate digital distributors....check
Release dead discs....check

So how long before Obama comes out and tells the world+dog that he can't play his copy of MW2...

I'd check if your campus has a firewall blocking uncommon ports, because the game uses Steam.
If you can't log into Steam, then you can't play the game.

they should know to burn data onto a dvd at a slower speed to eliminate any data errors on the disc. Complete Fail!!!
