    Thumbs up Microsoft Windows 7 Student Deal - $29.99[FULL - NON-UPGRADE]

If you're a student with a valid .edu email address, call the number below and ask to buy the FULL RETAIL version of Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional. They'll ask for your student email, name, shipping address and credit card info and if you want to download it or receive it on a DVD.

Recently I saw a posting about digital river offering 29.99 for anyone with a student email address. You had to go to the website and choose which version and whether or not you wanted the 64bit or 32 bit upgrade. I placed the order and then called Microsoft Store to cancel my previous preorder. When I told they why the said they can offer me the full retail version at the same price. I signed up and canceled my order with digital river.

    Here is what you do:
    1. Make sure you have a valid email address with .edu
    2. Call 1-877-696-7786
    3. Tell them you want to purchase the full retail version of either Home Premium or Professional. Why anyone would not choose Pro is beyond me.

For an extra $5 you can purchase the disk otherwise it is a digital download.

Enjoy a full retail version of Windows 7 for only 30 bucks!

Still working as far as I know, I ordered mine a few hours ago:

    EDIT: Deal is dead [10/28]
    EDIT: Deal ALIVE AGAIN!
    EDIT: Shipping is now FREE!

To clear up any confusion, this is the FULL RETAIL VERSION of Windows 7 Professional/Home Premium, the exact copy if you bought it at BestBuy/Amazon/Etc. It includes (2) DVD's 1 for 32bit and 64bit and the usual stuff in the retail package(key, booklet. etc.)

I already have my order in the Que but have not purchased it yet. I asked my advisor to see if our department is eligable for the MSDN academic alliance software. He is in contact with the guy in charge of it and the preliminary word is yes we just need to get set up. If this works out i will be able to get it for free. So im waiting for that.
Boy that info was old. As am I. Currently my kids have taken over my desktops. They are both sporting matching GTX1080's. Last Christmas I got everyone Oculuses and thus GTX1080's. I just got mine, Windows 7 Pro Full version in the mail I am 100% sure it's not an upgrade. Not sure if it was a short deal or something but I just called and gave them my collage email and placed the order and two days later got it

PS. You are limited to one copy.

Deal is still alive, or was brought back from the dead. Call 1-877-696-7786, tell them you're a student with a valid .edu email then ask for Windows 7 Pro or Home Premium, Retail - Full version. Right now Microsoft is even giving free shipping so total comes out to ~$32

    Wow, thats cheap!

Wish we had deals like this when I were at Uni in the Uk, but they only gave out discounted Microsoft software to IT / Computer related courses.

Gawd what a fiasco. Instead of sending my order. They sent me a cancellation notice.

So i call them up and they have no clue why it was cancelled, but regardless they say they will have to reorder it and refund my original $32.76 in 10-15 buisness days. So I'm like "OK fine reorder it, same price right?" She says yes it will be the same price. So I give her my CC info and after about what felt like a 20 minute wait she comes back and says bla bla bla you order has been processed and will take 5-10 buisness days bla bla whatver. She has not said anything about a total; and I know better so again I ask her "it is the same price I got on my original order right?" She says yes its the same price. After an awkwardly long pause I say "and that price is?" Without missing a step she says it was $299.99! And now Im like starting to loose my kewl and I say "woa woa woa I didnt authorize you to charge $300 to my card. "

I had to explain the whole student discount and price to her again. It was like everything we said in the beginning, she wasnt even listening and hadnt bothered to look at my first order even though we we talked about $32.76. And after about another seemingly 20 minute wait she cpomes back and says they she fixed it and the total was $32.76.

So I get on my card statement and she tried to run the $300 like 3 or four times. We will see if I ever get my stuff.

That is why I keep a credit card with only $200 limit on it and I refuse to let them raise my credit limit. They raised my limit up last year and I told them if they didnt lower it back to $200 I was going to cancel it. They dropped it.

I have a .edu but I'm not a student. Very interesting. Think it would work? I just bought Win 7 Pro OEM for about $110 more, but I have another PC that needs it.

I hope the deal sticks around b/c in the fall, I'll have another .edu from another University. $30 is CHEAP!

UPDATE: I logged onto my microsoft store account and looked at the transactions. That dumb Bioch, 1st tried to run a double order at retail price $654 on my card. Then she ran a single $327 order on my card and after all was said and done she never fixed anything!! She simple ran ANOTHER $32.76 on my account!!

When I logged on to my account there were over $1000 in charges for W7 pro pending!! Needless to say I called them back and had them cancel the first 2 orders. Which took all of 30 seconds to show up as cancelled on my account. Thank god for a phone rep that actually speaks english!! She actually asked ME " how did she (meaning the other rep) do this?" I said "HEY! its your guys employee, you tell me."

    totally F'ed up.
