should FUGGER use the multipliers on his P4EE/ES?

    basicly what it says.

im hoping that the majority of people want FUGGER to use his cpu's full potential.

    my reasons in this post

ofcourse, in the end, its up to him, but he doesnt need to think that people would be even more jealous of him now then we already are.

this is xtremesystems, dont let anything hold ya back FUGGER.

FUGGER, i do hope you dont find this offensive, or take it that im trying to tell you what to do with your stuff. im just letting you know, that atleast I(and i hope everyone else here) wont be crying unfairness on you.

this is the weirdest post I ever saw...

its only because FUGGER keeps saying he is not using the other multi's because it would be "unfair". but i really dont think anyone would hold a grudge against him, and if not, he should know that...

what if there is 30k in his cpu he has there? that would be a waste, to get that far, and then not get the last 5-10% necessary to get 30k out of it.

I say go for it, lets see what Intel has got when we allow it more freedom like an AMD.

Out with briefs, in with boxers!

    hehe.

if he thinks its unfair, then why do we have much to say about it?

    thats his ethics, his choice.
personally, I wouldn't care one bit how others benchmark, if I had multipliers to use, I would.
    but he doesn't.

so it just strikes me as weird...

like we're suppose to put pressure on him to do something he doesn't want to do.

yes, i know. thats the reason for my last paragraph in the first post.

he hasnt said that he is against using them completely. just that he doesnt want people to think its unfair.

if thats the only reason, and people infact, dont think its unfair, then maybe he will change his mind. yea, i can see how the whole thing can look odd. but it would be a shame to retard the full capacity of his computers power, over something that might not even be true.

It wouldn't be unfair, it would actually make it a fair game. Unlocked P4 vs Unlocked FX.

    i didn't vote since:

    1) it wouldn't be fair,so no
    2) it would be nice to make people jealous,so yes

    no + yes = neutral

I voted yes as have 8 others so far. If he is lucky enough to get an es thats unlocked, I wont cry foul on him changing any multiplier he wishes, in fact a few other people have done it already and their scores are in the orb. Of course this is his choice, but maybe he will feel better about it if others think its fair game like I do. Its not like a bugged score or anything

I'm unsure on this, you could say its unfair to use equipment others are unable to get access to.......but the same could be said of people who have loads of money to chuck at it.....or get free samples.

Its difficult, and should probobally have been left to FUGGER.

there's no such thing as free samples. it takes muchos work, money, skill and experience before one gets samples. how many hours go into reviews and such before one gets 'free' samples? FUGGERS ee is a perfect example. the amount of time and specialist knowledge put into his rig is easily worth the 'free' chip. the amount of press for intel so far is worth 10 bleeding ee's imho

If that was in response to my post, you both missunderstood me and missed my point.

enjoy the show. any additional 3dmark runs by you can wait, as much as I love 3dmark myself we shall leave the decision of you using other multis up to you, but reguardless, a 29k run by you is amazing indeed, I have my doubts if anyone else will hit 30k this year, thats how hard it is

TheDogFather - your post just reminded me how often peeps seem to complain that the top overclockers get free tek. my post was a general attempt to put this misconception to rest. the only reason the top guys get 'free' tek is that they have put in countless hours of effort which means that using time value of money there is no such thing as 'free' samples.

i wasn't having a poke at you specifically.

unfair? i think its just as unfair as some people have enough money to buy a 1000$ cpu and a couple of prommies

    its not really unfair...

do it! why? because you can!
