That AF picture makes me happy if it's legit. I've been disappointed with AF performance by both NVIDIA and ATI ever since ATI got rid of the angle independent algorithm they used with the X1800 and X1900 series.

vary comprehensive, i just cant express how disjointedness i am that what looks like the reference has DP and that they are making a feature of miniDP driving 6 monitors

and having no removable ram/pwm plate is kinda disappointing

    Radeon HD 5870 for €319,99

"Hardware.info managed to find Radeon's HD 5870 at an European e-tail shop Salland.eu for €319. Although, the price for the HD 5870 1GB card was set at US $399, the European price was never mentioned.

The card that will be at Salland.eu is from a partner, and the pictures show a reference card with 1GB of memory, but we are quite sure that some partners might at least place a sticker over the fan. The model number is 21161-00-50R, and believe that the price might be even lower once other retail/e-tail shops start listing it.

The link is here, and if, or to be precise when, Salland.eu decide to pull the listing off you can check out the picture below. AMD doesn't not allow any mention of the card before September 23rd, but not everyone obeys."

I'm wondering that same question myself.

Actually I was gonna ask first if 5870 will support Tri-fire, but I presume it will, can anyone confirm?

    Nice, thanks JP

Though judging from some of those benchmark numbers, if they're accurate, just two 5870s in Xfire seems more than enough for most games at 2560x1600, or?

How do they get all those monitors connected to the card? I see the one photo showning a bunch plugged in, but yet in other photos it shows 2 DVI, 1 HDMI and one other port on the card. Everything looks very interesting and it looks like the time is coming to replace my pair of watercooled 4870's.
