I'd just be happy with a bios that adresses known issues with they're high end boards
As far as the gigabyte not booting OS with a 720 unlocked thats laughable considering it holds multiple quad core 720 WR's

I've got no strings to hold me down.
To make me fret, or make me frown.
I had strings but now I'm free.
There are no strings on me
wow, you got to love ASUS, those sitting with an ASUS board at the moment, and one of these chips with a weak core, must be jumping to the heavens.
ASUS once again i thank you for being by far the best Mobo company out there, may it continue.
giga who?
can i have your cyberbabys ASUS?![]()
Well this is completely new level of game in this unlocking frenzy!
End user enthusiasts will love this "feature"
Adobe is working on Flash Player support for 64-bit platforms as part of our ongoing commitment to the cross-platform compatibility of Flash Player. We expect to provide native support for 64-bit platforms in an upcoming release of Flash Player following the release of Flash Player 10.1.
I have ASUS M4A785TDV evo and the bios version with this option about cores is available with 0403 version. The unleashing mode even though is available from the begging(0211).

Oh nice i may just grab one of those asus boards after allQuite tempted now after seeing this!
Empty your mind. Be formless, shapeless, like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle. You put it into a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow, or it can crash! Be water, my friend. (Bruce Lee)
The really funny thing about that is the fact that Asus Boards like the M4A79 Deluxe don't even need a bad core to fail running as X4.
That option seems to be more likely a way to bypass the fact that ASUS still has a real problem with full unlock.
You can see this if you try your Phenom II as X3 with 0,1,2 and 0,1,3 if it failed as X4. For me both X3 variations are working fine, but its impossible to use all 4 cores at the same time.
Seems that instead of fixing that problem its easier for asus to make us believe that most Phenom II X2 550 have a bad core and call that a great and new feature![]()
Hi
Anyone here using a m4a78-e and be able to choose what cores?, I have bios 1302 and a phenom 550, it ulocks it ok but windows 7 fails to load everytime, so choosing 3 cores might help me.
M4A78-E & BE50 and suck with unlashing mode = won't work.
Every time and each time the same. For to booting i'll get message "unlashing mode fail".
My BIOS version is 1302, but results are the same with all others too.
Image is nothing - thirst is everything.
You can't really say the CPU sucks. After all, at the end of the day, you did buy it as a dual core.
And still nothing new about the M4A79 Deluxe yet.
I guess:
should beWhat if the CPU is not capable of quad-core operation?
What if the mainboard is not capable of quad-core operation?![]()
add Crosshair III Formula to the list.![]()
Succesful unlock with m4a78t-e and x2 550 be now idling at 3 cores :P
