    i7 870 & Gigabyte P55-UD5

    Hey guys,

    Lots to come over the next day or two, but may as well start a thread about how I'm getting on.

    Sorry, no air numbers from me for now. Just trying to see how far I can push it on sub zero cooling.

    To start with, here is a shot or two of the board/setup

    One with the heat sinks off.

    Getting ready to go cold!

    Needed to make a back plate till I can get a "real" one off Vince.

    And all setup.
    For the top mounting, On the far side, I used the two socket 775 holes. And on the near side the two for socket 1366.

    i7 870
    Giga P55-UD5
    Team eXreme 1866 Mem
    Giga GTX260 (will go cold with that later)

    In this post, pay no mind at all to the times, just playing around with clocks.
    And to give you a fast idea of where it is at.
    No tweaks are being used, mem is crazy low etc, just trying for clocks.

    CPUZ = 5512Mhz
    Don't know why, but all my dump files say "corrupted" will get screenshots later.

    SPI1M = 5337Mhz

    wPrime 32M = 5200Mhz

    3D Vantage = 5004Mhz

    sweet finally we see some first cold numbers from thoose chips - and they look really promising! DICE or LN2? Clockwise this is around what I was able to do with 975 on DICE so really promising considering this is the first 870 chip we see under cold at all here.

    I can bench at 2400 Cas 10 (DDR1200) and screen close to 2500.
    I had to change ram though, now on Adata.

    Right then, still not my best, but starting to get the hang of it.
    Not many tweaks used, really just Mhz Power.

    PiFast @ 5346Mhz = 16.27sec

    SPI1M @ 5363Mhz = 7.703sec

    SPI32Mhz @ 5206Mhz = 7min 12sec 406mil

    wPrime 32 @ 5258Mhz = 4.593sec

    wPrime 1024 @ 5153Mhz = 147.437sec

    When running 4 cores, 8 threads. More stable at the lower vcore.

    As for vtt, for the most part, as much as you can give it. My setup max is 1.56.
    Any more and it will not post, or if you use easytune in windows it will lock up past that.

    Thanks.

    No issues with BCLK's, so no need to play with turbo.
