    Intel Q7600?

Q7600 still adopts 45nm process clocked at 2.7GHz.It has a 800MHz of FSB,13.5X of multiplier.L2 cache capacity has be scaled down to 2MB,the same as current Pentium dual-core series.

Intel is now flooding the market with quads the say way AMD has.

I don't know what to think of this though, at least until we can compare it to Q9550.

    I bet that's just 2 E7200 cores glued together
If prize is low that is going to sell well

    Haha, looks fun CPU

If price is same level that E8400 is now it will sell a lot.

    Finally, Propus' competitor has arrived.

    Quad-core, 2.7GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 45nm...

Nah, it's more like two Celeron E3500s in one bed.

Core2 arc needs its L2 cache, just like amd and L3. It may perform more like a E3300 "as the post above said" than a E6300/E7200....

    A E6300 would be a better investment IMO !!

Give these chips cache and those multipliers and watch them fly! If 775 is dying off, Intel "dont need" the money they've recovered the development investment.

Give us the 2009 equivalent of the Opteron 144!

if these sell for close to $100 they will sell like crazy and be pretty fast overall. they would make fantastic budget cruncher machines why oced up to around the 4ghz mark considering something like WCG does not really benefit from a faster FSB, the cache will slow it down a little but not by a whole lot.

Intel FSB-800 == AMD Black Edition. Practically these should OC to 4GHz, if not more, on a cheap mainboard using a cheap DDR2/DDR3 RAM.

If we consider overclocking these cacheless C2Q's should give a hard time to Phenom II BE .

all cpu's need cache. this is more of a push for mainstream quad and to get programmers to multithread than it is for performance.

Q6600 was overshining most of the CPUs in the 45nm line-up to begin with so it's still a solid CPU unless you for some reason feel like buying a Nehalem en having 8 threads for... something

If this can match E8400 in overall powerconsumption (or sightly above), then it would make sense to pair it up with an ITX machine!

All systems sold. Will be back after Sandy Bridge!

LOL +1 I mean 512k l2 per core... vs 2mb per core.. on CORE 2 arch... lol no comparison. most q6600 still hitting 3.6 on air, so even if this hits 4ghz I still agree on a q6600 win, aside the most menial apps.
