    Thumbs up Q9650 - 6 Gold Cups in one Day (conquering the HWBot HOF)

    Hi guys,

    This weekend I started my quest to unite the Q9650 'Hall Of Fame' and try to get all the 7 Gold Cups available for this hardware (Intel Q9650).

    I did get 6 first places (4 this weekend) . Now I have to pursuit the PCMark05 that I'm clueless

    All the Gold Cups where obtained with cooled water or the OCZ Cryo-Z single stage. Someday I have to put this setup under Ln2.

    [System]

    [Gold Cups]

    1. CPU-Z:

    2. PiFast:

    3. SuperPi:

    4. SuperPi 32m:

    5. wPrime 1024m:

    6. wPrime 32m:

    Consolidation on HWbot: http://hwbot.org/hardware/processor/...Q9650%20(3Ghz)

    Now I only need PCMark05 (any tips)?

    Hope you guys enjoy I had loads of fun!

    This was crazy to keep cool during this summer, rooms temps are high 33,5oC, especially by the end of wPrime1024m and SuperPi32m the Cryo-Z was working hard and I heard a lot of noise from the engine. I had to use a lot of fans to push the heat outside the Cryo's case, the higher temp I got from the Cryo was -20oC. Dunno what the temps on the cpu where like.

    Nice work, but that 32m pi score won't stand long at the bot - the checksum is not there, and memory tab is also missing. Plus, I've heard they don't like photos as verification. At least I got some CPUZ scores blocked because of that

    Yeah I know I will redo that one normally. I never expected that score to be WR so I never saved SS's

    nicely done! good luck with the last cup

    For pcmark05 you will want to skip SSD's (unless you want to buy 10 of them). Easiest and cheapest way is to buy an Acard 9010, or a couple irams (both cost about the same). The person currently holding gold used an acard

    Acard rocks man for pcmark, also keep the Aero glass theme set ( makes 2d go bonkers) and for some extra punch grab a better vidcard to top it off, nice work !!

    For the Pi runs can you disable a few cores ? to make the CPU even faster ? Also did you use OCXtweaker for Pi32mb ?

    For Pi and pifast I run XP, Wprime and Pcmark Vista
    Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

    Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

    Thanks man I'll look into those, what type of memory you could buy to use with those Acard's with a nice speed?

    Thanks for the golden tips Leeghoofd. I'll try to do that, problem is my board doesn't play well with ram at 1:1, funny thing... I'll try to disable some cores.

    I never used that software (OCXtweaker) I read about it but I don't understand this part:
    3. create in each subfolder some single files (waza0.tmp .....wazaxxxx.tmp ) , file count depends on Waza Size & single file size.

    Waza Size * 1024 / single file size = count
    Example : 480 MB * 1024 / 128 Kb = 3840 files

    Than each subfolder contains 3840 / 8 -> 480 Files

    How should I create those files and how many I would have in each folder?

    @all the others:

    Thanks guys your compliments fuels these sessions!

    I would just get the cheapest ddr2 800mhz 2GB sticks you can find (it runs everything @ 800mhz no matter SPD/rated speed). You dont need to populate all the slots either. Just buy 4x2GB and place 2x2GB on each side. Then use the raid0 option, set it as your target drive for pcmark, and away you go!
