    E8400 to 4.6GHz - EP45-UD3P

I have 9 X 500MHz stable, but am having trouble moving to 9 X 512MHz (4.6GHz). With settings below I have run 10 loops of Intel Burn Test set on Maximum at 512MHz for FSB, with CPU at 8 X 512 for 4.096GHz. If I rasie my CPU multi to 9 for 4.6GHz, adn raise my CPU Voltage to 4.225 in Bios, 3.9V in Windows, it crashes in IBT. Shuts down completely and reboots with the Error message telling me that Windows has recovered from a fatal error. Looking for opinions as to wheter it is my CPU failing, in which case I will add some voltage to it, or could it be the memory or MCH failing with the added strain of the CPU flying at 4.6GHz?

Lower that PLL, 1.57V PLL should be plenty. As to your problem, have to tried more vcore, dram voltage? Also a 50ps clock skew on the NB can sometimes help.

    Ye mine were as follows:

    CPU Clock Skew........................: [ 50ps]
    MCH Clock Skew........................: [ 150ps]

This was for 4.3ghz with my E8400

Also, why is the MCH ref lower than standard, it should be at least standard from what ive seen (and how i have mine, albeit its a DS4P board, but near enough)

My P45 UD3P and P45T UD3P MCH Ref setting are both lower than stock MCH setting. Round .74, otherwise I don't get into windows.
But each Board/CPU/RAM combo is different. Eg some need 1.3MCH voltage for eg 550 FSB, others need +1.4 for that...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree
