    Catalyst 9.3 now available!

    http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx

    Release notes
    ATI Catalyst™ 9.3 Folding@Home performance enhancements
Using ATI Stream™ technology, owners of the ATI Radeon™ HD 4000 Series, ATI
Radeon™ HD 3000 Series, and ATI Radeon™ HD 2000 Series of graphics
accelerators will see a performance boost in their Folding@Home scores when
running the latest Folding@Home client and upcoming cores in conjunction with
    ATI Catalyst™ 9.3

    Performance Improvements
Catalyst™ 9.3 brings performance benefits in several cases where framerates are CPUlimited.
    Some measured examples are:

Lost Planet: Colonies gains up to 20% on 4800 series products, and up to 50% on
    4600, 4500 and 4300 series products

    Catalyst™ Crew Driver Feedback
This driver release incorporates suggestions received through the Catalyst™ CREW
Driver Feedback program. To provide us with your feedback, visit Catalyst™ Crew
    Driver Feedback.
    REVIEW!

    Conclusion
The Catalyst 9.3 display driver isn't really faster than it fast predecessor, but didn't cause in trouble during our tests - so updating from 9.2 to 9.3 isn't really necessary. But if you just bought a Radeon card or reinstall your system you should use the Catalyst 9.3 of course.
    Supports:
    -Windows XP 32bit
    -Windows XP 64bit
    -Windows Vista 32bit
    -Windows Vista 64bit
    -Windows 7 32bit
    -Windows 7 64bit

Most important is that these drivers are the first official Windows 7 drivers from AMD/ATI

    My little review:
Drakensang with 9.2: 72 FPS after character creation.

Drakensang with 9.3: 54 FPS after character creation.

All systems sold. Will be back after Sandy Bridge!

So basically it can be sumarized like this:

8.11 to 9.1: No performance changes
9.1 to 9.2: No performance changes
9.2 to 9.3: No performance changes

    ......

8.11 to 9.3: No performance changes

Somehow this doesn't surprise me any more. I guess I'll wait to install this one until I'm done playing drakensang :p

could have fooled me........8.11 to 8.12 netted me performance, 8.12 to 9.1 netted me performance........9.2 never claimed performance gains just bug fixes......

    Angry

Powerplay issue with 4870 X2 on Vista 64bit still not solved, GPU 2 runs @ 750 Mhz on bootup. This is just unbelievable. I could hit a hammer against my head for 2 hours. Dear ATI-guys: IS IT REALLY THAT DIFFICULT???

Hmm, I'm getting around 35-50 FPS at 500/450 (1920, max settings) in COD:WAW in breaking point. I don't recall the frame rates that high when I used 9.1 or 9.2. IE: I sometimes forget to use the 3D setting. Interesting...

Tricky to measure as my clients are picking up so many different projects at the moment. However, I will be rolling this out to my ATi machines tomorrow so I'll try a side by side comparison.

I'm showing a 34 PPD gain on the same WU on an OCed 4850

    Exactly a 1% gain.

Probably some DLL file changes that I don't know about to get higher PPD with this core though.
