    Talking crazy E8400.. 681fsb valid (6129mhz) on Asus Rampage Extreme

    hey guys my new toy is pretty crazy in term of max fsb + i didnt have a clue that my rampage extreme could go so high ether. this is the new HWbot max mhz WR

    the gear i used
    asus rampage extreme
    e8400 stepping Q831A772 vcore 1.93v cooled with 2 stage cascade
    wd raptor
    ati 1650 pro
    G.skill 2000mhz stock ddr3 2gb kit

    here you go, bios is 1003

    his settings for boot:

    FSB = 635
    CPU Ratio = 9
    CPU Clock Skew = auto
    NB Clock Skew = 100
    Strap = auto
    PCIE = 103
    RAM Frequency = auto
    Ram Timings = 9-9-9-24 1T

    Voltages

    V-Core= 1.85 V
    Load Line Calibration = disabled
    CPU PLL= 1.51 V
    FSB Termination Voltage = 1.59 V
    Northbridge Voltage = 1.82 V
    RAM Voltage = 1.8 V

    i did some i will post em later.. i think i need to test some other bios too i did 672 yesterday and swapped to a newer one..soo maybe some other bios might yield iven more fsb there is also few tricks that i forgot to test..soo hopefully i can get more out of it still...fingers crossed

    hehe its not "that" scary i tested 2.0v too..lol it was lil bit too much for the chip at "just" cascade cooling

    seems like everyone is breaking back out the Rampage well im going to follow Im putting my single stage on the north bridge and going for 700+ fsb

    GREAT JOB 680 is hard to get on the rampage what sort of NB cooling?

    Get that board and CPU run PL9 and fsb ~660-670. Then we can start to make some plans about benching together sometime

    yeps i know that was the result of hard work of testing of few hundred various settings.. the nb was cooled with ice water

    that 0121 bios for some reason does not like to play nice at all with chip.. the 0301 was good too.

    hehe ok lets see what i can do. that ~660-670 range is certainly gonna be a challenge to get stable enough to some benchies.

    alright its time for some 2d benchies..all i can say this chip is SICK

    hey Petri this one is for you. i believe you ordered 1 ~660 -670 fsb score with performance level 9.. unfortunately my ram does not like performamce level 8 at all..




    this was the absolute max i could pull off this time.. even performance level at 12 or 13 didnt help at all.. but still i think this is quite good
