ASUS Rampage Formula BETA BIOS 0802

New BETA BIOS 0802 for our Rampage Formula. You can download it here.

CPU and NB Clock Skew are added in this BIOS.

I flashed this BIOS to my board and it didn't brake anything. It's running stable at stock settings. I didn't test it for overclocking yet.

It's a BETA BIOS if you don't have any problems you don't need it.

I hope this might help running 8 Giga memory at it's rated speed.

    Awesome
Edit: I can confirm CPU/NB Delay Skews Will be testing high fsbs and will report back.

    Something new to play with!

    Thanks a lot.

Please report your experience with 4 memory sticks, if the new controls can help to reach the stock settings.

That's great. Post some results. I don't have the time right now do some testing.

Thy question - am i gonna kill my P5E Deluxe with this BIOS, since it's beta?

Well, it didn't, now i'm starting to undestand CPU/NB Clock Skews and than i'll test. A-Grey, thank you very, very much (:

I suggest, as you now have experience with this, to ask ASUS to add more specified GTLs for the CPU. On-die or even on every core (:

That isn't so easy. It would be possible if we could give them some screen shots with prove that on-die CPU GTL's are necessary for stability.

The reason that they gave us CPU and NB Clock skew is because of the problems that some guys experience with 8 Giga memory.

All we can do now is test this BIOS and try to find all it's weaknesses. I'll pass the information to the ASUS Tech Support with the issues that we've found with this BETA BIOS.

Hmmm... I see that the thread is moved. Maybe not such a bad idea to move it to here.

Well this is the low down, all clock skews are working correctly in tandem I say top job Asus for FINALLY listening to us. This is a new era perhaps?
For a guy with busted cpu socket contacts I can now boot to Windows with more than 333mhz FSB! LOL

God bless you A-Grey - clock skews allow me to run some tests with tweeking for a couple of minutes at 485, which was impossible before even with shut down "hack" - now i can really fight for at least 471FSB for 24/7 why not 483 too.

I wish i could do something for you! Thank you!

Hey hey just wait a minute there what about some of that love for me too ;D Actually on second thought there's way too much love around here for my liking I'll go back under my rock with my datasheets

I can get the system to exit bios and save at 533mhz fsb, which is a good start. Soon as my board gets RMA'd early week I'll have it back within days to do some shockingly high FSBs Might even break the E8400 i got here out to see how high I can push, need to get the pair of Corsair Dominator 2x1GB v1.2 Micron sticks off a friend too for high memory speed testing. I've already had them out to 1260ish on a P45, so they should do 1300s for benchmarking runs!

Of course you deserve one big piece of love too (((: I just was so euphoric that i just forgon (: You go guys, and CryptiK from GTL's thread too helped a lot, much more than i expected (:

So, so far 7 hours Blend at 471. One core have failed after 3 hours, but this i fixable, since there is no lockups or major CPU/RAM/NB failure.

I haven't had a chance yet to do much with my oc's but I have discovered a couple of things about this new bios. It does boot much faster for me than the previous bioses. I had to enable the Capture interupt 19h in order for my x-fi xtrememusic card to work. After setting the skews to -100 for the cpu and normal for the nb I can reach 4ghz with less vcore. And last but not least and I am not sure about the why of this one but cpuz and everest both load a 100% faster than with the 710 bios.
