Fits Radbox monster build (work log)

i wanted to make something that would cool my entire computer and handle the load of a i7 at max.

i'll be using 2 HWlabs 560GTX's that gary from sidewinders ordered for me from HWlabs.

    i'll be using 8 delta FFB1424SHG's for fans. these are 140mm x 50mm and have 237cfm at 24v.

to power the fans i'll be using 2 meanwell S-100-12's and a meanwell S-150-24 for my pump, a pdd-20.

    i'll be using 2 EK250 res's as well.

    frame...

    rads...

    fans installed...

    res's mounted...

psu's mounted and testing fitment of the rads...

    psu wiring....

a quick test outside the case...

    first run....

    wiring up the fans...

heres a video to show how loud it is...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_m-TxaPMXA

things you cant see in the pics....

    1. fan psu's allow for 9v - 17v so i can regulate the fan speed from the psu.
    2. like the fan psu's, the pump's psu can be regulated from 19v - 31v to adjust the pumps speed/flow.
    3. unit weighs 47 pounds filled when full of water.
    4. dual res makes bleeding the loop A LOT faster because it allow for 2x capacity when filling the loop. looks cool too, at least thats my opinion.
    5. fans are modular and use a 6pin pcie connector. i have several more of these so if for some reason one dies its a matter of 4 screws and a simple unplug to replace it.
    6. it measures... 27" tall x 16" wide x 12" thick.

    Yikes...8x ~270CFM fans. Even undervolted to 9-17V that's a lot of airflow

Looks like a fun not-so-little build

i have ~$750 in it and over 30 hours of assembly.

    rads alone were almost $400.

talk about large. the one question I have with these type of boxes is where are you putting them? I've seen the vids of cyberdruids massive creation like this one and I assume he uses it for crunchers that he isn't in proximity to, but for you fit what is the purpose?

Now you just need to build a weather proof case and stick it outside. That is the most extreme water cooling system I think I've seen.

if your benching shouldn't you pursue an SS or LN2 for about the same price? obviously its too late now, but its just a thought

But you dont get any higher clocks being at 32C vs 40C load. Overclocking on liquid is not limited by the heat but by the temperature, you need to drop the temperature of the CPU far below ambient to decrease the resistivity of the transistors in the CPU and couple that with increased voltage to raise the cadence of the transistor switching allowing higher frequency.

Your essentially passing this off as being a short term benching machine that is intolerable to be around in the long term, but in reality your getting the same overclocking capabilities as 2 PA 120.3s and some SanAces that you could plop on your desk and use all day long (a relatively simple MM build)

excuse me for being critical but I can't see the point in all of this other than saying look how big my radiators are....
