    LGA1366 CPU blocks

    Hi all,

As far as I know there is still no D-Tek Fuzion 1 mounting bracket available for socket 1366 or is there?

If not, I'm thinking of buying an EK Supreme CPU block.
    - What are you thoughts about this block concerning cooling capacity?
    - Does it also use impingement?
    - Is there a substantial difference between the acetal and persplex version?

Thanks in advance for any reaction.

Thanks, I already PM'ed with him about these brackets. But was curious how the EK would do and if it includes an 1366 mounting bracket by default.

I just made my own Delrin topped block based on the DD MPC-CPU - Still needs light sanding and polished but pretty happy the way it turned out and looking forward to seeing how it performs

I love that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you complete making something and it turns out good

Never tried to flame polish Delrin before but thought i'd give it a go and it worked

Just need a matching NB one now

    @ Coolmiester

Looks very sweet!!!! But how is the mounting on the backside? Aren't affraid that you bent the mobo without any backplate supporting it?

    @ All

Are the cooling capabilities of the EK Supreme comparable to the Fuzion version 1?

Oh yeah, that was just a test fit and i'll be making backing plates for CPU and NB for when i do the final fit

You can see the making of the top here

    Its essentially an MC-Chipset block.

How about modifying a GTZ bracket and combine it with an EK backplate for mounting the Fuzion version 1?

That´s exactly what i´ve done. Havent mounted it yet but i think it will work just great. Using the old screws and springs from the first D-tek Fuzion mountkit.

Maybe not the sweatest modd, but it´s cheap

Well, I think it's a sweet, cheap and decent mod till an official bracket will be released. But are you also planning on using the EK backplate for mounting?

And do you think there is still enough material on the GTZ bracket after using a dremel? How much did you remove to make it fit?

Given most people on XS would buy the latest block for a 1 or 2 degree decrease i'm actually quite surprised that most block manufacturers are just adapting their old blocks with a new mounting plate for i7 when i would of thought a re-design was in order to optimize the new core size

    i agree with you.

But if you think of actual coverage on a waterblock, and how it was always much larger then the actual die, it still works out.

But were seeing companies make slight tweeks in design, and one company that came out of nowhere and told us there back koolance. :P

Its gonna take a lot to pull me off this 350.

this block is within 1c range of GTZ plus this comes with i7 mount. for 59.99 vers gtz which is 69.99+9.99 mount

here is a review comparing it to GTZ and some others http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews.p...ock_shootout/5

I pmed Duniek a few dys ago, got no response back. I'm tired of waiting, got myself GTZ with 1366 mount, MCP655+XSPC top and PA120.3, hopefully, it'll be enough for these damn heat ovens

Hmm.... I PMed him a few days ago, got a response, sent a payment, now just waiting! Too bad it will be an international shipment, probably slower than usual.

But finally I will get my Fuzion V2 on my 920!!

I would assume if you are using a normal TIM, a dab in the center of the IHS is the best.

Coolmeister, I like the block. Where'd you get your delrin, how thick is it, and how much was it? Sorry for all the questions...
