    P6T Boot up/POST Issues

Apparently there is a boot issue where the fans will all turn, and the system will appear on but the monitor will get no signal. Some people are still able to boot after powering off and on multiple times, but I haven't been so lucky.

Any one else having this problem?

i had that issue but i found out that i putted too much stress on the mobo around socket due to screws i tightened too much.
i had a 800+ grams aircooler, and tought it was better to get it tight but it was a mistake, i did it hand only and it works fine now.
must be due to some kind of pressure protection or watever :p

hope this helps...best test is with stock components
    Core i7 2700k@4,8ghz HT off- 1.41v / Gainward GTX580 GooD 850/1700/2200 / 2X4Gb G.Skill Ares 1833C9 / Z77 Sabertooth / Crucial M4 64 Gb / WD 320Gb and 640GB / Corsair H80 / Corsair 620 HX

All stock. Either the RAM I have isn't compatable or the board it bad. I get no POST or beep codes with or without the RAM installed. I ordered a 1g stick of memory off the QVL to make sure. It seems like I have had problems with just about every ASUS board I have ever owned.

I read at the ASUS forums and someone may have found a cause. To me is sounds like a RAM incombatiblity but here is that thread. He doesn't think it is RAM related but I do.... I am still waiting for my 1 gig stick because I don't feel like fooling around with it. If my 1g doesn't work, I am going to RMA and never buy ASUS again.

EDIT - My module will be here tomorrow and I can test it after work.......

I'm gonna tell 'ya right now. You mignt as well not even test any i7 board at all right now if you are looking for perfection...you won't find it. They are working out bugs right now, and it's gonna be months. An RMA is not gonna fix it. That goes with the territory.

All you gotta do is reboot the system for a workaround, and wait until they come out with a new BIOS update that cures it. I've been discussing this in private with another member here. I get some hangs on my RIIE at DET RAM, and VGA BIOS sometimes. It's no biggie. The RIIE and P6T is kinda similar.

There will be gremlins with all of these new systems and brand doesn't matter. You've got one of the best boards out there, so hang onto it for awhile.

It booted right up with some RAM off of the QVL. KVL1066D3N7/1G (Kingston 1g 1066Mhz). I disabled ExpressGate so I won't run into any problems with that.... Time for a BIOS update to see if it will recognize my 12gigs.

    Hi there,

it's me who create the thread in asus forum!

This problem is really strange, it's probably ram related, yes, but not due to defect ram! I have try 4 different ram, and two of then was working on an another i7 computer... So it's not related to ram but probably to motherboard/ram/latency... Now what is exactly the problem, don't know... My pc was working fine during the last 4 days, booting at first attempt always, and since this morning, it don't boot correctly, i've to reboot a lot of time again! I've change nothing in Bios, so i really can't understand and i hope an update will fix this soon!

If you have any idea, please help me because i am bored of this motehrboard, but i don't want RMA it, no time for all unbuild/rebuild again!

Were you the one who reported the "Back to Back CAS Latency" being 0? I boot perfectly with my new module and the BIOS will report "Back to Back CAS Latency" 0 when set to AUTO. The BIOS obviously still needs some work.

The blue LED under the RAM slot A1 (first orange on the left) should shine when the system boots and remain lit. When I was testing my other modules the light would only flash when I turned the system off.

You can do what I did and order some RAM off of this list and I would be willing to bet that it will boot right up every time. The module I bought was $30 and took 3 days to get to me, which was nice because the RMA the board would have probably cost that much to ship and took much longer.

I have attached the QVL just in case you needed to see it.

There must not be a clear reason for these issues but I can say that mine went away after using an approved module. I originally thought that this problem was RAM related and as far as I can tell, it was. I have had no problems since. I'd clear CMOS and boot one module and run it for a day or two then add another.

I'm having similar issues with the ASUS P6T Deluxe Mobo.
I purchased an Open Box Motherboard from Newegg and i set everything up and turn the power on. All the fans are spinning, LED's turn on, no beeps.
I don't know what the cause is, but i narrowed it down to either RAM incompatibility or a faulty motherboard. I doubt it's the RAM though cause i checked
out the G.Skill website and under G.Skill Trident DDR3 PC 16000 CL9 6GB it reads motherboard compatibility ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 right at the top of the list.
So I'm thinking about RMAing the motherboard.
