DreamHack 2008 Winter overclocking by Team Finland

.. I'll continue here with our DreamHack 2008 Winter overclocking. This is the biggest LAN-party in world with over 12 000 visitors. Me and my editor Ville are overclocking here live at Telia's booth:

    Day 1:

First day we tested two Core i7-965 CPUs and managed to run 3DMark Vantage @ 4,725 GHz. Broke P31k in 3DMark Vantage with stock cooled GeForce GTX 280 3-Way SLI.

    ---

    Day 2:

During the night we insulated two Tek 4.0 Slim VGA pots, modified and insulated three GeForce GTX 280 and mounted the pots. This pic is 1:30 am:

Thanks to hard work during the night, we were ready to go and had two nice sessions with LN2 cooling on CPU and VGAs:

We managed to break P34k but after this our Silverstone Olympus 1200W PSU gave up..

We will continue tomorrow, test some CPUs

    Awesome guys, just awesome
So, you won't replace the PSU, and bench Vantage with LN2 again, for 34.5k+ ? ...

    Day 3:

Today we managed to push Core i7-965 Extreme Edition (3836A923) successfully higher than yesterday:

    4789 MHz in 3DMark Vantage's CPU-tests.

Then we started testing 3-Way SLI and first run with "low" clocks: 4748 MHz and 850/1900/1260 MHz gave us small improvement to yesterdays score: P34224.

Overclocking wise our location in DreamHack was not the best possible although it was a prime location for exhibitor (Telia). Overclocking stand located in main hall and right next to DreamHack main stage on right side.

Towards evening the humidity started to become a really big issue and place got very hot also because people started to gather in front of main stage.. and our location. Unfortunately we couldn't finish a run CPU @ 4789 MHz and VGAs @ 875/1900/1270 MHz which we tried couple of times before Vista lost two graphics card because of condensation.

We are very happy with our result in this live-event although there was no way in world to match Kinc & crotale.

Thanks to: Intel Sweden (Thomas), Asus Sweden, Telia and United Media Group for a great event

Also a good score and maybe some room to improve later, congrats

I'm thinking our system is capable to score 34,5 - 34,8k in near future with these parts

Now it is time for couple of beers

Nice work on the hardware Sampsa and Ville, and some nice away-from-hardware time as well

It's good to see you benching again, after the PSU issues you had I can see 34.5k+ coming
