    Anyone else having problems sending GPU2 units?

    I keep rolling out GPU2 WU's and they keep taking ~30 minutes or more to send.

    Sprint and cogeno has split the internet in two, actually, so expect alot of slow down all over the US.

    I have had the same problems on my 7 clients. Most of them take as many as ten tries to send. Gah!! F'in Stanford.

    Whoa!!! I didn't know you were a folder or even cared. I thought you were just an XS OCer. I've read your posts with great interest since the DFI ICFX 3200 T2R/G. Of course that pos mobo has been sitting in my closet unused since it fried a great vid card for it's time and couldn't install Vista 64with a quad. I had to buy an Asus mobo for Vista to install with a quad.

    I fold under many names(see cadaveca @ extreme folding stats), have been ever since I got broadband. Although I do not always contribute to this team, I do contribute to the overall goal, and prefer to try to help other with overclocking here, as well as support the 3D Team.

    That said though, issues that happen worldwide tend to show up on this forum first. I post in this section when I have info that can help!

    My GSO's keep trying to send the finished WU every 10% or so through the next one...this is causing horrible delays.

    Was AMD section before that..I hit whatever is popular...3D guides me, and intel is fastest ATM for 3d...folding too!

    I'd love to post my FAHLog in "CODE" but for some reason Vista has turned my internet to . Vista has slowed my connection down which might be why I can't send units, a weak connection. Every other computer on my network is fine, and running at speed.

    I can't make long posts or a post with any kind of tag in it...

    Is there a way to get my client to stop trying to resend already finished units in the middle of another WU? It's kinda killing my progress and making it hard to fix my two slow cards.

    You could delete the work folder then re-launch FAH....but you'd lose the unit that was not sent. I'd rather lose one WU than have my overall ppd bogged down.

    imo. just me. but I'd probably dl the console client expand it in a folder.. copy the work folder, queue.dat, and client.cfg into from the systray client into it.
    then run a -send all flag with the console client and try to get them to send if it's screwing with your other clients.

    does qfix work with gpu client? if so you could qfix them, then send all... then go delete the work and queue from the systray client and start a new fresh wu with no sends in queue..


    or like DrHay said, just trash them...

    I have had the same problem..... when this happens the times for 1% completion on y 9800gt drop from around 1m8 to 9seconds to around 1m30s.

    The client shouldn't keep trying to upload if a server is down, that's supposed to be fixed with 1.09 already

    If it doesn't you both got my apologies for coming of so strong, but I really thought this issue was fixed already.

    Edit: though then again, why trash a good wu? Does the interferance cause you to loose more work then that the wu is worth? Wu takes more then an hour, loosing half a minute per frame means you can do two wu's while being affected and you would still do more work..

    f@h is not about seeing the progress of frames and forgetting about the unit you already completed, is it? For that you got the 3d team where you're a member of. I would love to have you all aboard the folding team as well though, because we could do more work and maybe just maybe find a cure to some desease god forbid someone you know will get affected by in the future Don't you think the cause is more important then the points/progress you're watching?

    It's doing it every 5-10% and makes the current frame take 30-60 seconds longer to complete. I don't want to trash the WU's, never thought about doing that. Just wondering if I could have it stop trying to resend units in the middle of a WU and have it send them all when the WU is finished.

    Loony there is an announcement on the forums about server outages today, cadaveca posted something about an internet routing problem their seem to be a number of problems going all around so I really can't help you. I would say take Mike's advice with qfix and sendall but if you can't connect now, I don't think qfix has any influence on that at all as you don't have a qeue problem but a connection problem.

    Only thing imo is to wait and let it progress. Calculate what you would trash if you did it.. a wu takes how long? And once per 5-10% loosing 30 to 60 seconds? How many wu's can you complete in the time you would gain with trashing the wu's in qeue? More then you would trash? I don't think so, you would come to a net loss, not gain.

    I had one stuck in queue the other day for a little while...
    anyway I just let them run... and most of the time they'll send, but it takes a while...

    here's one stuck in queue trying to send in the middle of a wu and failing.... I don't think they affect frame times too much.. mine eats about 5 seconds between frames, but then it continues on like nothing happened.. but if it would have been successful send, then I'm sure it would have to wait for the upload so longer..

    anyway, that's just some examples of how it works on mine for comparison... if you're concerned yours aren't doing it right... btw: I have a 1.5mb dsl line...

    btw: mine do get stuck in between wu's beacuse of stanford server issues. where it sits there and try's and try's to connect to get a new wu.. last week when it was bad! I was going 4-6 hrs bt wu's.. all idle time..
