Yes, .999 pure. Should do about 1C better than the copper version.

    Looks just great man!

How's about a report on performance when it's had a couple days for the TIM to burn in?

Your set up should offer a very good high performance comparison of the copper vs silver Cascades.

You've a really nice set up there, congrats.

Unless you accept the fact that you can easily kill your CPU by doing this, then don't! If you are fine with the risk, this is how I did it, took 5 minutes. Get a straight edge razor blade and hold it with a pair of pliers. Work the blade under the IHS at each corner first. Then you sort of cut through each side gently, the epoxy is sort of rubbery and the blade will slice right through it. Just be careful not to hit the core with the blade. Once you cut through the epoxy around the perimeter of the IHS, it should literally fall off. Be VERY careful when mounting a WB or anything to the bare die P4, they are more fragile than the AMD's. I saw a 4-5C temp drop with my setup when I removed the IHS.

With the lower temps from removing the IHS and a strong cooling system, about how low of temps are you seeing?

I know the temps won't be exact, but interested anyway.

With my current setup, I see about 10 - 11C above ambient on the CPU. Now some say the Abit's read high, but I don't know. With aircooling on the same board/CPU, I saw load temps to 63C.

You must be running low CFM fans on your setup... with dual heatcores I would imagine CPU temps being closer to ambient than yours (unless the temps you gave are full load ones, then congrats mate, great result!)

Thanks for the info and experiences sharing.
My mobo is living on borrowed time. I dropped quite substancial droplet of solder into my cpu socket, right inside one of the pin hole. Thought, yes, I hve just killed my mobo...((( tried to remove it with small pliers and then pincers and then needle and ten... I gave up and inserted my cpu...
it works up till know despite large blob of oridinary solder fooling around inside...

I am not of faint hearted kind, mate !

After about 24 hours, this is what is reported to me via the on die reading in the IC7. Funny how the PWM temp is always hotter than my CPU temp, PWM is the temp of some mosfet I think. This is with 2 instances of FAH running (as always!). Go figure why there are 3 IEXPLORER's in task manager

Look at that shine !!!! (on the head that is ! lol)

Looks awsome !! great wb IMO

BTW the PWM thermal diode on the IC7 is just next to the cpu socket, near the rear of the board. IMO with water the reading will be alittle high without additional airflow around the socket area.
