    My SB750, HD4850 x-fire, 9850, H20 Build...

Well, I thought I would track my build.. not that it is spectacular or anything.. just thought I'd keep everything in one place. I have screenies and specs of my first setup with this Phenom 9850.. and this will be a good way to compare the two.
So here are a few starter pics.

    AMD Ryzen 9 3900X
    GigaByte X570 AORUS LITE
    Trident-Z 3200 CL14 16GB

    Nice. Congrats on the build.

Meeting shmeeting! You have tech toys to play with!
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

    Rule 3:
When it comes to computer news, 70% of Internet rumors are outright fabricated, 20% are inaccurate enough to simply be discarded, and about 10% are based in reality. Grains of salt--become familiar with them.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

    Random Tip o' the Whatever
You just can't win. If your product offers feature A instead of B, people will moan how A is stupid and it didn't offer B. If your product offers B instead of A, they'll likewise complain and rant about how anyone's retarded cousin could figure out A is what the market wants.

    Looks SWEET Charged...

I'm curious to see how well it OC's. I have the Asus M3A78-T variant of the 790GX coming tommorow. WooHoo!!

The GBT looked really nice, but I had so many problems with the DS5 I just didn't want to chance going with them again, hopefully they got it right this time....

What Phenoms are you going to test in it?
    I have a 9600/9600BE & 9850BE I'll be testing with the Asus this weekend...

Ah, a fellow SB750 ASUS boarder! I thought I was going to be all alone since it costs more than the others.

Never fear, I'll be the backup guy with my x8450 on stock cooler with the same board. Stay tuned for probably nothing amazing as I take my wife's new machine into overdrive.

    That sucks Charged...

I've been playing with this new Asus 790GX for the last few hours, and I did have a few problems with the DVD drive (fortunately I had an extra )...

I finally have Vista32 installed an I'm doing the updates as I type...

Hopefully I'll have some 9600BE results from it by tommorow...

Go give your wife a sweet back rub bro (they love that!), just make sure you let her decide where it goes from there...

So far this ASUS M3A78-T seems to be doing pretty well. I hate to say it, but after hearing your early results from the GBT I'm kinda glad I went with Asus this time around...

So for the life of me I haven't figured out how to enable ACC in the BIOS. I found out that you have to hit ctrl-f1 to bring up the hidden options and then I can select it (auto, 2%, 4%, etc). However no matter what I choose it still shows as disabled in AOD 2.1.2. I have a few other options to try, but gee it would have been nice to have some info on it in the manual. The manual literally says nothing about ACC let alone the key combo to enable it. You'll have to let me know what you figure out Charged when you get yours up and running.

I was able however to install just fine using ACHI, which apparently some reviewers had trouble with. I slipstreamed SP1 into my Vista x64 disc and it recognized the SATA controller and installed without issue. Now I have the SATA/NCQ controller and all that jazz in device manager.
