Hmm.... I like the 9800gx2, but idk if my psu could handle it (4 rails @ 18 amps, 650 watts) and I don't have an 8 pin pci-e power cable.

The gtx260 @ the egg for 230 caught my eyes, might grab it. It has a MIR, thats how its so cheap. It also consumes less power and runs cooler.

9800gx2 for ultimate folding (if you can run 2 clients at once)

Synthetic, change the thread title, put every reported deal in post #1 and I'll ask for it to be stickied!

Edit: thought about it, how about we ask it to be moved to DC Vault and cover all dc projects? Only fah uses gpu's now but the other people wouldn't mind seeing us report some steals for their own projects as well.

What do you think about this card for folding? Newegg link

Just over $100 with shipping, then a $30 rebate. I'm not a big fan of rebates, but this seems like a pretty good deal. I'd like to have a 4870, but I'm thinking of getting this for now and wait until the gpu2 client matures.

Guys, if we are to make this sticky work, lets please post here.

    Thanks!

Lol sorry, forgot about this thread, here is a dual-slot 9600GSO for $89 after MIR. Do these cards even get hot? Might not be really necessary but i say it's a good idea instead of having all that hot air sitting in the case.........

    Dual slot is SECKSAY!

I wish more low end cards were this way. Cuts down on noise and heat.

Even a 9600gt with fewer sp's get's pretty hot, mine's around 70c without side window, 80c if I leave the window on. That 30 buck MIR, I heard most never really get it so if you consider that is this still a deal? Aren't there 8800gt's to be had for that price?

Marvin, looks like I'll be getting a gtx260. People on the video card forum voted it, although no one really said why that over the 9800gx2. I was hope for some feedback.

Marvin, only time will tell, but I think i'll be very happy. Then i can send my 8800gts to fold 24/7. An extra 5800ppd will be epic, but that will have to wait for a bit...

I think it's pretty known what you can expect in gaming, all that can change is how you undergo it.. sometimes I just force my mind into thinking I got a real gpu and close fraps while gaming, it works for about half a second

Edit: Mike that's your territory to abit right, you would know how usefull those MIR's are?

The 9800gtx+ caught my eye. Thats a nice price for a sweet card like that.

I hope they eventually go down to 120 or so. I'll have to pick up a few. LOL

Hey Synth, when you asked 'why isn't this stickied yet?' did you consider actually updating post 1 all the time? That's the essention of a sticky, that's why my gpu2 ppd/$$$ thread which I think would be stickyworthy if I had kept it updated ( which I can't since there are no real update's besides new charts from Legoman666... maybe I should bump the thread but I posted the most important one already in the other threads where the price discussion are going on ) but since it's not being done, it's obviously not sticky material yet.

Hang in there, instead of quoting the deals try to arrange them with some bb makeup, on ppd or purchase price ( or both? ) ect. Make it appealing!

Just suggestions, I know I'm hardly the guy to keep telling people how to write stuff, I haven't written one guide for xs to date. But then again, you're all doing exactly what's needed imo already so no need for dual threads

I'm about what you win with getting the info in pm. If you want it with a certain make up already just ask us. When I had a roster thread going at fm allot of the team members once they knew what kind of bb makeup I used in the listing would just post it right like I would need it. Copy paste into post1, done it was a blast!
